The first look at the Child’s Play remake is here and one thing is for sure, ole Chucky looks like a brand new doll.
Filming has already begun on the remake from MGM and Orion, directed by Lars Klevberg. It will feature a new take on the killer doll that we all know and love.
How different will the remake be? Not only does Chucky look different, but he will also sound different since Brad Dourif, who has long voiced the possessed doll, won’t be voicing the new version. Chucky‘s getting an upgrade. It’s been said that there will be robotic aspects to the doll which may be hacked and made to kill. Here’s another thing, creator, writer, and director Don Mancini has ZERO to do this flick. It will also have nothing to do with the original franchise which is still alive and well.
Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2) wrote the script for the remake starring Aubrey Plaza as the mother, Brian Tyree Henry as an officer, and Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out). David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (IT) are producing.
The new “Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.”
We’ll keep you posted. nfdkjsbgsjbhgksuerhe (sorry, that was just me banging my head on my desk).
