Several months ago we reported that NBC was working on a television adaptation of Jeffrey Deaver‘s novel The Bone Collector which was made into a film back in 1999 starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. Deadline has reported that NBC has ordered the pilot for the new series titled “Lincoln.”

The series centers on Lincoln Rhyme, a legendary forensic criminologist who was seriously injured during his hunt for the serial killer known as the Bone Collector. He is called back into action when the killer re-emerges and forms a one of a kind partnership Amelia Sachs, a young cop who helps his search for the killer while working on the most high-profile cases of the NYPD.

The writing duo of VJ Boyd (S.W.A.T.) and Mark Bianculli (S.W.A.T.) are penning the script for “Lincoln” from Universal Television and Sony Pictures in association with Keshet Studios.
