Jordan Peele, whose “Twilight Zone” revival is set to premiere this April, has begun working on his reboot of the 1992 horror classic Candyman. In fact, the first star has just been announced.
LaKeith Stanfield, who appeared in Peele’s hit Get Out, is set to star as Anthony, “a socially pronounced artist in Chicago who researches the urban legend of Candyman. After investigating the killer’s last known whereabouts, strange killings begin to occur.”

There is no word yet if Tony Todd, the man who brought the iconic character Candyman to life in the original franchise, will reprise his role. I have a feeling that if he doesn’t fans won’t be happy. You can’t just replace an icon.
Peele’s revamped version of Candyman is set to open in theaters on June 12, 2020. Here’s a look back at the original film’s trailer.
