Filming for Sony’s dark Spider-Man spin-off Morbius is in full swing. Thanks to star Jared Leto‘s tweet we’ve got our first glimpse of the scientist turned vampire. While we don’t see much, the tweet does let us know that there are 11 weeks of filming left to go.

A few days ago we reported that “The Terror” actor Jared Harris has joined the cast along with Matt Smith (“Doctor Who”) and Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising).

Jared Leto stars as Michael Morbius, a scientist who, while trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. Though disgusted by his own bloodlust, he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life.

Daniel Espinosa (Life) directs from the script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless based on the character created by writer Roy Thomas. Morbius made his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101.

Morbius opens in theaters on July 31, 2020.
