A few months back we reported that Warner Bros. and Amblin were considering an adult animated series adaptation of Joe Dante’s Gremlins. We can confirm today that the series has been ordered.
The ten-episode series, titled “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai“, will be written and executive produced by Tze Chun (Gotham).
Set in 1920’s Shanghai, “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” will tell the story of how the shop owner Mr. Wing met Gizmo at the age of 10. Together they have all sorts of adventures across the Chinese countryside, including facing off with Gremlins.
“Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” will be available in 2020 on WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service.
