Previously I wrote about THQ Nordic announcing the possibility of remaking the legendary action RPG game Gothic. Along with the news they released a playable teaser on STEAM in which afterward 180,000 players answered survey questions and the results were as THQ Nordic put it, “unambiguous”, 94.8% of fans loved what they saw and support the idea of a remake. Today THQ Nordic announced that the Gothic remake will be going into production!
THQ Nordic will be establishing a new studio in Barcelona, Spain that will take on the task of creating the remake using player feedback. One big demand by players is a grittier and less colorful world in the final game than what was seen in the playable teaser. The Gothic remake will not be coming anytime soon but will be developed for PC and next-gen consoles.
