‘The New Mutants’ And ‘Antlers’ Pulled From Release

As events and locations continue to close due to the Cronoa Virus pandemic, movies have begun to cancel their releases.

Yesterday, we reported that A Quiet Place II had canceled its release for later this month, Now, The New Mutants and Antlers have been pulled from the release schedule with no new date announced.

 

The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin, known Magik; Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie who plays Cannonball; Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair/ Wolfsbane; Henry Zaga co-stars as Roberto da Costa, known as Sunspot, a mutant with the ability to absorb and channel solar power; and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar, a Native American telepath known as “Mirage”.

Alice Braga stars as Dr. Cecilia Reyes, a  doctor with the ability to generate a protective bio-field around herself but is capable with more power than she lets on.

In the movie, “Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.”

 

 

 

 Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Scott Cooper, was originally set for release on April 17th.

Based on the short story “The Quiet Boy” by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”), Antlers is set in a small town, where an Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, find themselves involved with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) who is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
