With theaters still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s no surprise that Universal is delaying the release of the reboot of 1992’s Candyman. Originally set to arrive in theaters on June 12th, the movie is now being released on September 25, 2020.

Director Nia DaCosta‘s Candyman returns to the neighborhood where the legend began, where Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood. We all know not to say the legend’s name five times, but the people in the movie co-written and produced by Jordan Peele say it anyway and bring down Candyman’s wrath upon themselves.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (US, Aquaman), Tony Todd (Candyman), Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett star.
