While we have to wait until next summer to watch The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It in theaters, a 30-minute documentary titled Faith & Fear: The Conjuring Universe Behind the Scenes was released this weekend giving us our first brief look at footage from The Conjuring 3, directed by Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona). You can watch it below.
I really wanted Conjuring 3 to get away from the haunted house setup of the first two films,” Wan says in the video. “It should be on a whole different level. Something that we’ve never explored before in the Conjuring world.” Set in 1981, the film tells the story of Arne Johnson, notable for being the first time demonic possession was used as a reason for manslaughter.”
“The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.”
Both Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return to reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard also star. James Wan is producing.
The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, will haunt theaters beginning June 4, 2021, from Warner Bros.
