The directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street) have teamed up once again for a new untitled Universal Monster movie.

The movie is working hard to keep details as quiet as possible, but the film is being “described as a modern-day, tongue-in-cheek thriller inspired by Universal’s classic monster legacy,”  by Deadline.

Channing Tatum is set to star in the film, who also worked with the directors on the 2012 comedy reboot of 21 Jump Street.

Wes Tooke wrote the script based on an idea by Reid Carolin.

Lord and Miller will be producing under their Lord Miller production banner. Tatum, Carolin, and Peter Kiernan, who will produce under their Free Association banner. Aditya Sood, the president of Lord Miller, will also be producing.

The last revival of the Universal Monster franchise was the fantastic film The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss, which gave us hope for the franchise after the first attempt of a new installment, The Mummy starring Tom Cruise, crashed and burned.
