SyFy is gearing up to deliver a new 10-episode series that is a new spin on George A. Romero’s 1985 movie Day of the Dead, titled – you guessed it – “Day of the Dead“. Variety is reporting that the series will now premiere this fall.
Written by showrunners and executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, the series centers on six strangers fighting to survive the first 24 hours of the zombie apocalypse.
Steven Kostanski, who is directing four of the series’ episodes in the first season has teased that the new series will have ties to the classic horror movie. However, he couldn’t go into detail.
The series is produced by Jeff Holland and Drew Brown for Cartel and HiTide Studios’ Jeff Holland, Stan Spry, and Drew Brown are also producing. Steven Kostanski will also serve as executive producer.
