It’s been five years since horror icon James Wan has directed a horror film, with the last being The Conjuring 2. Well, he’s finally back in the director’s chair for one of the most highly anticipated horror films of the year, Malignant which will premiere this September. And we’ve got a batch of images that tease a tension-filled film.
In Malignant, “Paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, Madison’s (Annabelle Wallis) torment worsens as she discovers that her waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.”
Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, Mckenna Grace, George Young, Jake Abel, Michole Briana White, Ingrid Bisu, and Jacqueline McKenzie star.
Akela Cooper and JT Petty penned the script based on the story by Wan and Ingrid Bisu.
Wan has several other horror films in the works. He is producing the new Salem’s Lot adaptation, the new Tommyknockers film, and The Nun 2, just to name a few.
Malignant opens in theaters and premieres on HBO Max on September 10, 2021, from Warner Bros.
