Sony Surprises Fans By Releasing ‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City’ On Digital

Director Johannes Roberts‘ reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City hit theaters last month, but you might be wondering when it’s coming to TV. It’s sooner than you think. Sony is giving horror fans an early Christmas gift and releasing it TODAY on Digital and VOD!

 

In the movie, “Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.”

 

The cast includes Kaya Scodelario (Crawl) as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) as Chris Redfield, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy, Tom Hopper (“The Umbrella Academy”) as Albert Wesker,  and Neal McDonough (“Yellowstone”) as William Birkin. Donal Logue (Silent Night, “Gotham”) is playing the role of Chief Irons in the “origin story adaptation” of the gaming franchise.
