“The Boys Presents: Diabolical,“ an animated anthology spin-off of the hit series based on Garth Ennis’ violent comics, is out now on Prime Video.
The eight-episode short anthology series features stories from the bloody, ultraviolent universe of “The Boys” and features characters like Homelander as well as new characters.
The premiere episode, titled “Laser Baby’s Day Out,” features a story by executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen and was directed by Crystal Chesney-Thompson and Derek Thompson.
“For last few years, have really wanted to do some dialogue-free comedy; just tell a story without dialogue. When we realized that we could do an “Animatrix” style TV show out of “The Boys” Universe, we just instantly came to this idea. It is heavily based on the movie Baby’s Day Out and the start of Roger Rabbit. That animation is the direction we were going in the whole time because it just played best to the comment and the gag in relation to the violence.” Goldberg says.
