The cast continues to expand for the next installment of the Scream franchise with new and returning stars, including the survivors from this year’s movie, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega, as well as franchise star Courtney Cox, and Hayden Panettiere from Scream 4.
THR reports that the newest addition to the cast is Dermot Mulroney, who has starred in films such as Insidious 3, as well as “The Purge” series, “American Horror Story,” and the killer series “Hanna” and “Prodigal Son.” Mulroney will play the role of a cop in the new movie.
This time, “the saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Scream, Ready or Not) will helm the film, with James Vanderbilt (Scream, Murder Mystery) and Guy Busick (Scream, Ready or Not) writing the script. Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak serve as producers (Scream, Ambulance). Kevin Williamson and the other member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena.
