Hot off the heels of The Black Phone, Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill are producing the horror Room 429, from Screen Gems, Deadline reports.

Room 429 is from the filmmakers behind the 2020 hit The Wretched (review), who will be both writing and directing the supernatural horror whose plot is being kept under wraps at the moment. Sherryl Clark will also be producing for Crooked Highway.

“[The Wretched] secured the number one spot at the box office in the U.S. for six consecutive weekends, becoming the first to hold that record since the release of Avatar in 2009. The Wretched became available to stream on Netflix on July 31st and subsequently charted as one of the Top 10 Most Watched Films in the U.S.” Deadline states.

We’ll keep you posted as more details surface. In the meantime, check out The Black Phone, out on Blu-ray and DVD next week (8/12).
