Quiver Distribution and Blacktop International team up to launch The Girl in the Pool, a new thriller starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Monica Potter, and Kevin Pollak. Quiver will take it to the upcoming Berlinale European Film Market. This marks Prinze Jr.’s exciting return to the genre and reunites him with Potter after over two decades.

Deadly Deception Underneath the Celebration:

The film throws Thomas (Prinze Jr.), a seemingly well-off family man, into a chaotic spiral. As his wife Kristen (Potter) throws him a surprise birthday party, a dark secret lurks beneath the surface. Moments before the festivities begin, Thomas hides the dead body of his mistress. This sets the stage for a suspenseful battle against exposure and potential consequences.

High Praise for Performances and Genre Blend:

Quiver Distribution’s Co-Presidents commend the film’s ability to captivate audiences: “The Girl in the Pool is a surprising thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the end. Freddie Prinze Jr. delivers a remarkable performance as the unfaithful husband in a truly unfathomable predicament.”

Blacktop International echoes the sentiment, highlighting the genre’s intriguing blend: “The Girl in the Pool is an amazing mix of whodunnit and psychological thriller that will take you to the verge of questioning your perception of reality.” They further emphasize their excitement about Prinze Jr.’s return and collaborating with Quiver Distribution.

Prinze:

Freddy Prinze Jr. is best known for his roles in films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, as well as She’s All That and Scooby-Doo (2002). He regularly plays the “boy next door” characters in films. With an easy charm and good looks, it’s a part he plays well.

Prinze Jr. reunites Monica Potter, who starred alongside him in 2021’s comedy-filled mystery Head over Heels, directed by Mark Waters. The film centers on a young woman who is attracted to a man despite her thinking she’s seen him kill someone.

Behind the scenes:

Directed by Dakota Gorman and written by Jackson Reid Williams, the film boasts a strong production team.  Larry Greenberg, German Michael Torres, RJ Collins, and Eric Brenner produce. Executive producers include Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Tyler Gould, Johnathan Gorman, Nicole Rio, Berry Meyerowitz, and Jeff Sackman from Quiver Distribution.

We’ll let you know as soon as a release date is announced.
