Devilworks is bringing the Australian horror film Spithood to North American audiences. Written and created by First Nations Australians Travis Akbar and Thibul Nettle, marks a significant milestone in Australian cinema.
Spithood unfolds within the confines of a bleak mental institution on its last night in operation. Chaos erupts when a dangerous patient escapes confinement, triggering a night filled with terror. The night shift staff is unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds. They must face their deepest fears as the fugitive inmate embarks on a relentless killing spree.
With every shadow of the asylum concealing unknown horrors, the staff realizes that their survival hinges on their ability to collaborate and outsmart a cunning predator.
As the walls reverberate with cries of desperation, each moment transforms into a battle against time and madness. Trust begins to fracture, and secrets come to light. Pushed to their limits, the staff must navigate a twisted maze of terror. In a desperate race against death, they must confront not only the violent threat outside but also the demons lurking within themselves.
The film delves into themes of trust, betrayal, and the dark side of human nature and boasts a talented cast, including Thibul Nettle, a First Nations actor who co-wrote the script and stars in it. Claudia Bonifazio, Natasha Wanganeen, and Nick Buckland also star.
Get ready to be terrified. Spithood has now slashed its way onto Prime Video.
