Ever wondered what your neighbors are actually doing behind those closed curtains? It’s time to get suspicious all over again! A trailer just dropped for the series reboot of the 1989 cult classic “The ‘Burbs,” coming to Peacock this February.

This isn’t just a quick remake; it’s a fresh, eight-episode mystery-comedy that’s about to turn suburban tranquility upside down—and Keke Palmer is leading the charge.

The Plot: New Neighbors, Deadlier Secrets

Inspired by the original Tom Hanks film, this modern spin takes place in a present-day cul-de-sac that is anything but quiet.

We follow Samira (Keke Palmer), a young woman who has just moved into her husband Rob’s childhood home. She’s trying to settle in, but she becomes utterly obsessed with the creepy, dilapidated house across the street. When a new neighbor moves in, old secrets start bubbling to the surface, and suddenly, the “perfect” neighborhood feels like a total death trap. Fueled by pure curiosity (and maybe a little bit of boredom), Samira goes full-sleuth to figure out what’s really going on before it’s too late.

A Killer Cast

The cast is stacked. Palmer is joined by Jack Whitehall (Fresh Meat), Mark Proksch (What We Do in the Shadows), and Paula Pell (SNL).

Julia Duffy, Justin Kirk, and Kapil Talwalkar round out the neighborhood’s eccentric residents.

The Creative Dream Team

This reboot has some massive power behind it. It’s produced by Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment. The show was created by Celeste Hughey (Dead to Me), with Rachel Shukert (The Baby-Sitters Club). They are also serving as executive producer. Even Dana Olsen, the writer of the original 1989 movie, is on board as a co-executive producer to make sure that classic vibe stays intact.

Tune in for the premiere of “The ‘Burbs” on February 8, 2026, only on Peacock. But first, stream the original 1989 movie right now on Apple TV, Prime Video, or Fandango at Home.
