If you thought your neighbors were annoying, wait until you meet the uninvited guests in Herman. This psychological horror-thriller is set to haunt VOD platforms in December via Scatena & Rosner Films. The story follows a grizzled recluse whose fragile grip on reality begins to slip in a remote mountain cabin.

A Cold Night for a Curse

Herman is a survivalist living on the jagged edge of total isolation. He finds himself tormented by a mysterious calling from a truly dark, ancient force. Just as he reaches his breaking point, a persistent knock at the door changes everything. As a winter storm rages outside, mysterious visitors begin to tempt his already fractured sanity. Herman must now wage a desperate war against the darkness before it consumes his soul.

The Leaders

Writer-director Andrew Vogel makes his visceral feature debut with this indie project. The film stars Colin Ward in a powerhouse title role that explores human desperation. An impressive supporting cast joins him. That includes Lawson Greyson (V/H/S/Halloween), Soni Theresa Montgomery, and Alex James.

Behind the Madness

Vogel described the production as an incredible journey alongside a team of highly skilled artists. He expressed immense pride that this independent nightmare found a home with S&R Films. Managing Director Gato Scatena called the film a bold and provocative debut that stands out. He praised Vogel’s vision for being both deeply human and completely unnerving for North American audiences.

Where to Stream

Brace yourself for a bleak winter because Herman, which promises to be a “deeply human” descent into the heart of psychological terror, is out now on Prime Video. Whether the visitors are real or just in his head is a question you will have to answer. Just try not to answer the door if you hear a knock in the middle of the night.
