Netflix Takes ‘The Last House’ Marketing to Terrifying New Heights with Man Living Inside the Billboard

Director Louis Leterrier has brought his sci-fi horror thriller The Last House to Netflix. And the streaming giant is celebrating the release with a publicity stunt that takes claustrophobia to a whole new level. To mirror the film’s premise, Netflix has trapped an actual human inside a fully furnished living room billboard suspended 30 feet above Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard.

Living the Suspended Life on Sunset Boulevard

The high-concept thriller follows a family of four unexpectedly sealed inside their home with zero escape routes. They are forced to navigate shrinking resources while surviving whatever sinister force is keeping them locked inside. Taking the “trapped at home” theme to its absolute extreme, the billboard actor lived in his elevated, glass-enclosed box at Selma Avenue and Sunset Boulevard through Saturday, August 8. While maintaining a bizarre semblance of daily routine 30 feet in the air, he communicated with gawking commuters below via whiteboard—a creepy homage to the film’s themes of isolated survival.

A Stellar Cast and the Team Behind the Siege

The Last House boasts a powerhouse lead duo in Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, supported by an ensemble cast that includes Riley Chung (Sunrise), Emma Ho (The Expanse), Noah Alexander Sosnowski (Section 8), and Gabriel Barbosa (May December). The claustrophobic suspense script was penned by Matthew Robinson (Love and Monsters).
