Rising Producers Launch Black Ribbon Productions with Blood-Chilling Slate Ahead of Halloween 2026
Los Angeles has a new home for the bizarre, the unsettling, and the downright terrifying. Producers Brooke Becker and Delaney Sharpe have officially launched Black Ribbon Productions. It is a Los Angeles–based production house dedicated to developing genre-bending horror, sci-fi, and alternative digital content. Built on a foundation of bold storytelling, Black Ribbon aims to champion underrepresented voices while serving up unconventional narratives tailored for modern audiences.
Becker’s background spans hit television projects including Hulu’s “The Dropout,” HBO Max’s “Head of the Class,” and Freeform’s “grown-ish.” She also served as a staff writer and actor on the award-winning series “Parallel.” You can stream it now on Prime Video. Sharpe, the accomplished playwright behind Emily Dickinson Is Dead, made her directorial debut with Adaptation: Harrison Bergeron. She has also appeared in projects like Reputation, Artefact, and the feature Army & Coop.
A Packed Debut Slate
Launching just in time for the 2026 Halloween season, Black Ribbon’s initial lineup spans digital anthologies, festival-bound short films, and high-concept digital campaigns.
The Veil: A bite-sized horror anthology series bringing quick, potent scares directly to YouTube this August.
Emergence: A sci-fi horror short directed by J. Scott Miller (Future Ref) and starring Ambar Martinez (The Pitt, 9-1-1).
Thin Air: Written and directed by Brooke Becker in collaboration with Rhymes With Pie Productions, this sci-fi horror short stars Monroe Cline (Don’t Worry Darling, The Beauty) and makes its world premiere at the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival this August.
Dark Ages: An unsettling digital horror campaign tracking a woman receiving “medical treatment” for endometriosis in the late 1400s.
Redefining Digital Genre Storytelling
“Black Ribbon Productions was born from the scary stories we used to read under the covers at night instead of doing our homework—terrifying and fascinating tales that speak to our most human experiences,” said co-founder and Lead Creative Producer Brooke Becker. “We’re thrilled to champion fresh voices and bring audiences the unexpected via the platforms they already gravitate toward.”
Co-founder and Head of Client Services Delaney Sharpe emphasized the company’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries: “Audiences have made it clear they’re looking for bold, original ideas. We’re committed to developing original genre projects while collaborating with filmmakers from historically underrepresented communities, as our perspectives help expand what the genre can be. By embracing both digital-first distribution and traditional media avenues, we seek to bring innovative horror stories to wider audiences.”
With a heavy mix of digital-first accessibility and festival-caliber production, Black Ribbon Productions is positioning itself as a major indie force to watch as spooky season approaches.
