Daniel XIII; the result of an arcane ritual involving a King Diamond album, a box of Count Chocula, and a copy of Swank magazine, is a screenwriter, director, producer, actor, artist, and reviewer of fright flicks…Who hates ya baby?

Dig this one; the Blood Countess herself Elizabeth Bathory (Jessa Jupiter Flux, Murdercise, Onlyfangs ) has survived the centuries and settled down in suburbia!

Meanwhile, Jenny (Angel Nicole Bradford, Backwoods Blood Feud, The House That Eats Flesh) is having a shitty go of things as of late… she’s trapped in an abusive relationship and she’s completely broke.

The solution to at least one of those probs comes in the form of a job offer from Bathory her damn self, and the gig really sucks too, as it involves looking after Liz’s insane sister… who lives in a bathtub, eats raw meat, and snarls all of the damn time.

The job lasts roughly one second before Bathory works up an arcane boobs n’ blood style bedroom bedazzlement and marks our heroine with a sigil that gives her a taste for human flesh and additionally, at no extra fee, marks her as the vessel for the offspring of the demon king, Asmodeus!

At least the job pays well…

With Blood Bitch Baby there’s way more to love here besides the title!

Let’s start with the cast…

Angel Nicole Bradford has a great look… reminiscent of Sissy Spacek with a dash of Shelly Duvall… as well as a highly expressive face and wide range. She’s a solid lead, and isn’t afraid to completely batshit nuts when the story calls for it.

Then there’s Jessa Jupiter Flux… think an evil Jayne Mansfield or Diana Dors, totally committed to her over-the-top, horny, horror comic villain and lovin’ every minute of it! She’s a load of fun to watch whenever she appears!

The narrative for Blood Bitch Baby from co-writer/director Donald Farmer (Scream Dream, Cannibal Hookers) is jam-packed with absolute insanity as Bathory’s batty machinations play out in sequences that throw boobs n’blood our way, some satisfying female empowerment, a lil’ history lesson, and let’s not forget that demon baby.

Speaking of which, that baby beast is brought to life with practical effects, and the creature is just as crazed as the rest of the material… but truth be told, I had some confusion about this creature… let me explain…

So, Asmodeus… he’s represented mainly by one humongous arm, but he does have a head that comes in to view, but for a bit I assumed it was the creature’s sentient penis… but the baby creature looks like this thing so I guess it was his real head after all. There’s my Ted Talk on that…

I also have to mention the opening credits sequence as it is truly cool as hell, and looks like a Euro-horror by way of Herschell Gordon Lewis… it also sets the vibe for the horror biz to come!

The only negative is, there is a foul-mouthed, tanned, purple haired female detective that makes the scene and is so angry and enjoyable to watch… but she disappears from the narrative soon after she’s introduced. I’d love to see more of this angry ol’ dame going off on any monster in the vicinity!

Speaking of more, there are a brief smattering of special features on this Bloodsick Productions Blu-ray including an intro to the film courtesy of Farmer and cinematic mad-woman Kasper Meltedhair (Busted Babies), a behind-the-scenes photo gallery, and trailers for additional Bloodsick Productions flicks.

Long on ideas, short on runtime, and absolutely bonkers… Blood Bitch Baby is an entertaining indie fright flick that is well-worth giving a wicked whirl!!

*Full disclosure, I have had a short featured in one of Farmer’s anthologies, but that didn’t and wouldn’t effect this review, dig?
