Shudder is gearing up to unleash the post-apocalyptic thriller Hallowarrior. The film, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival,  is from Ben Sottak, making his feature directorial debut.

Sugar, Spice, and Wasteland Warfare

The film stars Hereditary breakout Milly Shapiro as Pumpkin. She is a solitary survivor navigating a barren wasteland following a catastrophic global plague. Believing herself to be the last living human on Earth, Pumpkin spends her Halloween quietly scavenging for meager supplies to honor her favorite holiday. However, that peaceful ritual is violently shattered when she runs into a gang of savage raiders.

Led by the ruthless Thalia (Shannyn Sossamon, Sinister 2), the raiders arrive at her doorstep. Vastly outnumbered but dangerously resourceful, Pumpkin fights back with a lethal combination of sharp wit, heavy weaponry, and a few improvised sugary treats in a ferocious, gore-filled battle for survival.

A Dream Team of Genre Favorites

Beyond Shapiro and Sossamon, Hallowarrior boasts a stacked ensemble cast full of familiar horror alums. The film features standout performances from AJ Bowen (You’re Next) and Ajani Russell (Skate Kitchen).

The Team Behind the Terror

Hallowarrior was produced by Emmajane Hoffman and Sottak for Strange Eons, as well as The Spitting Image and The Dazey Phase.

A Real Treat this Halloween

Delivering a wild, crowd-pleasing love letter to post-apocalyptic cinema and spooky season traditions alike, Hallowarrior is set to unleash absolute carnage when it hits Shudder on October 16. Just remember the golden rule of apocalyptic trick-or-treating: always check your candy for razor blades, and your wasteland for raiders.
