Award-winning horror actress and filmmaker Jamie Bernadette is officially stepping into a deeply personal new creative chapter. Known for her extensive work across genre cinema, the prolific performer is preparing to release her debut poetry collection. Titled Two Inches from Suicide, the compelling book officially arrives on digital and physical storefronts on November 10, 2026. As a result, horror and poetry fans can experience a vulnerable, literary side of the accomplished screen star.

Exploring Dark Psychological Themes

The upcoming eighty-two-page collection contains twenty-nine original poems written throughout Bernadette’s life. The evocative writings explore heavy themes like abuse, depression, addiction, death, suicide, and the afterlife. Several pieces also examine complex personal relationships alongside her experiences navigating a professional acting career in Hollywood. Born in Kankakee, Illinois, as the youngest of nine children, Bernadette began writing poetry at age six. That lifelong creative outlet ultimately became this raw, published body of work.

A Formidable Career Across Film and Television

Bernadette boasts over one hundred film and television credits, including starring roles in roughly forty horror features. Notably, she played the lead in I Spit on Your Grave: Déjà Vu, directed by original franchise creator Meir Zarchi. She starred opposite original horror icon Camille Keaton, who portrayed her character’s mother. Furthermore, Bernadette starred in Showtime’s 4/20 Massacre and earned multiple Best Actress awards for her performance in The 6th Friend. Her television credits include hit shows like “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Midnight, Texas.”
