Steven Schneider, the creator of the Paranormal Activity franchise, Malkier Studios, and rock god Slash are teaming up for a new slate of horror movies, “animation, and thriller content.” Variety reports.
The first film on the list is titled Janus and comes from director Jason Zada (The Forest). Written by Nate Atkins, the film centers on three members of a band that seeks refuge in an old house where they discover a woman who harbors a terrifying secret.
The cast of Janus includes Alex Neustaedter (American Rust), Natalie Alyn Lind (“Big Sky”), Jack Kilmer (Lords of Chaos), M.C. Gainey (Emperor), and Grace Van Dien (“Stranger Things”). Slash is producing the film alongside Steven Schneider.
The next film to be released is titled The Worthless Remains. Director X (Superfly) is the director’s chair for the film written by Micah Ranum (The Silencing).
Variety quotes Schneider as saying: “Producing a horror slate with innovators such as Jason Zada and Director X. is a nightmare come true. These stories are fresh and exciting, and I can’t wait to see them realized in collaboration with Malkier Studios.Together, I’m confident we’ll elevate the genre to new heights.”
