Just a couple of days ago, we reported that Andy Muschietti, who’s behind the upcoming series “Welcome to Derry,” had been teasing the return of Bill Skarsgård, who absolutely killed it as Pennywise in IT and IT: Chapter Two. The cat is officially out of the bag; it has been confirmed that Skarsgård will reprise his role as Pennywise in the series!
There’s more good news! Andy Muschietti directs four of the nine episodes. The series also reunites multiple people involved with the IT movies. That includes producer Barbara Muschietti and Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs, who developed the TV adaptation of the Stephen King horror classic together. Let’s not forget the film’s other producers, Roy Lee and Dan Lin, who are also working on the series. With genre leaders like this involved, you can go ahead and assume that this series is going to be amazing!
“Welcome to Derry” delves deeper into Stephen King’s “IT” universe, expanding on the world established by the previous films. The cast boasts impressive names like Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, and James Remar. However, the specific plot and character details surrounding the Pennywise character remain shrouded in secrecy.
Bill Skarsgård has been busy making a name for himself. He’s starred in multiple films this year, including the newly released Boy Kills World and the upcoming reboot of The Crow. And Let’s not forget about Robert Egger’s highly anticipated reimagining of Nosferatu, which will be released on Christmas Day.
