Universal Products & Experiences and Vixen by Micheline Pitt have teamed up for a chillingly stylish collection to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the iconic monster movie Creature From the Black Lagoon.
This special summer collection offers a unique blend of vintage aesthetics and contemporary design inspired by the film’s legacy. Vixen’s CEO and designer, Micheline Pitt, a lifelong fan of Universal Monsters, expresses her excitement: “Our goal was for fans to immerse themselves in the magic of classic cinema with these iconic looks.”
Holly Goline, Vice President of Dark Universe at Universal Pictures, echoes this sentiment. “She highlights the collection’s homage to the film’s unforgettable wardrobe, featuring the classic white one-piece swimsuit and sophisticated 1950s silhouettes.”
Micheline Pitt takes pride in Vixen being one of the first female-owned fashion brands to collaborate with a horror property. Founded in 2016, the company prioritizes quality over quantity, creating slow fashion pieces designed to last.
The Creature from the Black Lagoon debuted in 1954 as one of the classic Universal Monsters. Directed by Jack Arnold, the story tells of a strange prehistoric beast lurking in the depths of the Amazonian jungle. A group of scientists try to capture the animal and bring it back to civilization for study. The film inspired many horror films over the decades, especially Guillermo del Toro’s 2017 film The Shape of Water, which won over 130 awards, including four Oscars.
