Looking for a film the whole family can enjoy? The animated comedy Minions & Monsters hits Peacock this week, a perfect film that introduces your little terrors to the world of monsters, including Cthulhu, without giving them nightmares.
An Era of Monsters
The movie follows a beloved crew of yellow henchmen into 1920s Hollywood. Seeking cinematic fame, the group attempts to produce their very own classic monster movie. However, their chaotic production accidentally brings real mythical creatures into the human world. As a result, the makeshift filmmakers must step up and save humanity from destruction.
Charming Animation and Humor
Co-directors Pierre Coffin and Patrick Delage bring incredible energy to this retro period setting. The film charms audiences using fast slapstick humor and clever references to silent-era filmmaking. The artists also deliver vibrant visual designs and imaginative creature concepts throughout the story. The resulting aesthetic is a delightfully colorful love letter to golden-age cinema.
Upcoming Peacock Streaming Debut
Fans can stream Minions & Monsters at home on Peacock starting October 28, just in time for Halloween. The digital release provides families an easy way to experience this chaotic cinematic journey. Ultimately, the project proves that these iconic yellow mischief-makers can carry big-screen thrills in any decade.
