Supernatural horror fans will soon welcome a terrifying new presence into their homes. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is officially releasing director Rob Savage’s latest feature film, titled Other Mommy. The chilling narrative adapts author Josh Malerman’s acclaimed horror novel Incidents Around the House. Screenwriter Nathan Elston penned the terrifying script, bringing rich psychological depth to the story. The plot follows eight-year-old Bela as she navigates her parents’ troubled marriage in a tense home. However, genuine terror erupts when a malevolent entity emerges directly from her bedroom closet. Calling the mysterious presence “Other Mommy,” the young girl faces an increasingly aggressive spirit threatening her family.
Dual Roles and Powerhouse Performances
Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain leads the impressive ensemble cast, taking on demanding dual roles. Chastain portrays both Bela’s biological mother and the terrifying physical manifestation of “Other Mommy.” Meanwhile, actor Jay Duplass stars opposite her as Daddo, Bela’s struggling father. Child actress Arabella Olivia Clark anchors the story’s emotional weight as young Bela. Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and screen legend Karen Allen round out the supporting cast.
