If you’re like me, you go big for Halloween, and I literally mean big. Every year, I buy a ton of decorations, including big inflatables. You see, my town closes down for Halloween and becomes one big Halloween party for local kids. Hundreds turn up dressed in costumes, play games, and Trick ‘r Treat. And I don’t want to let them down.
Every year, I get a new inflatable to go with our theme of the year. This year’s theme is Ghostbusters. And what would it be without a huge Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? He is iconic. I’ve bought inflatables from HalloweenCostumes.com for several years now, so I did again. While the site has multiple sizes of the inflatable, I got the 33-foot-tall one. And let me tell you, it’s enormous! I also picked up a couple of Ghostbusters uniforms while I was at it.
The inflatable is made well. The fabric is tough. The motor is super quiet for what it takes to keep Stay Puft inflated. Be sure to stake yours properly. If you don’t secure it, the wind can blow it all over the place. Speaking of weather, last year, when it stormed, we would just let the air out of our Beetlejuice inflatable (by unzipping the zippers at its feet). The next day, we’d plug it in and re-inflate it with no issue (keep the motor out of the weather!) I assume Stay Puft will be the same. Here’s another pro tip: invest in a storage tote. You don’t want any critters chewing their way into the box while it’s in storage.
To explain the scale of this thing, my house isn’t tiny. It’s a three-bedroom, two-bath. The tree beside it is a 100+ year old pecan tree. Stay Puft is just that big, making everything look small. I had to go into my neighbor’s yard across the street to get the whole thing in the video and picture.
