Prepare your ears and your neck—Lestat is officially going on tour. AMC Networks has just cranked the volume on the next chapter of Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, and the rebranding is complete: “The Vampire Lestat” is coming this summer, and a new sneak peek has arrived to celebrate.
To celebrate, AMC dropped a tantalizing sneak peek titled “The Book.” It gives us a first look at how Lestat (Sam Reid) reacts to Daniel Molloy’s blockbuster bestseller, Interview with the Vampire. Spoiler: Lestat is not a fan of how he was portrayed in the “trashy bestseller.”
The New Era: Rock Star
This season isn’t just a new chapter; it’s a total reimagining. Tired of being the villain in Louis’s (Jacob Anderson) story, Lestat decides to set the record straight, the only way he knows how—by becoming the world’s first immortal rock star.
Lestat embarks on a high-octane, multi-city concert tour that blurs the lines between fame and feeding. While on the road, Lestat is haunted by “muses”—figures from his rebellious 18th-century past who aren’t ready to stay buried.
As Lestat’s star power grows, his influence triggers a massive, unnatural surge in the vampire population, forcing the rest of the Immortal Universe to deal with the fallout.
The Sound of the Season
You don’t have to wait for the premiere to hear the music. AMC has already released Lestat’s first official single, “Long Face,” on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon). Series composer Daniel Hart writes the track. And get this, Sam Reid himself actually performs it.
The soundtrack draws heavily on David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust era. But “Long Face” is just the first of over 20 original songs written for this season.
Cast & Crew
The ensemble is back and bigger than ever. Sam Reid (Lestat), Jacob Anderson (Louis), Assad Zaman (Armand), Eric Bogosian (Daniel Molloy), and Delainey Hayles (Claudia) are all returning.
Newcomer Jennifer Ehle joins the cast as Gabriella, alongside Sheila Atim as the legendary Queen of the Damned, Akasha.
Showrunner Rolin Jones and Executive Producer Mark Johnson return to lead the charge of this “fangtastic” series.
