The lights are flickering, the cameras are rolling, and sleep is no longer safe. Horror Dadz Productions has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for their latest found-footage nightmare, Night Terror, and it looks like a grueling addition to the genre.

Co-directed by Joshua Brucker and Hunter Nino, the film tackles one of the most terrifying real-life phenomena: sleep paralysis. Here is a breakdown of why this indie chiller is currently a hot topic for found-footage junkies.

When Your Body Becomes a Prison

The story centers on Shelly, a young woman whose life has been completely upended by chronic sleep paralysis and vivid, horrifying night terrors. When her desperate pleas for help reach two college students, Autumn and Will, they decide to make Shelly the subject of their new documentary.

However, the “observation” quickly spirals into a haunting. As the college students realize they’ve documented something far more dangerous than a medical condition, Shelly is forced to call in a team of professional paranormal investigators. Together, they attempt to stop a malevolent entity that has moved from Shelly’s dreams into our reality.

Rural Isolation at its Finest

To capture the specific dread of being truly alone, the production filmed in the small town of Watseka, Illinois. For director Joshua Brucker, the setting was deeply personal, drawing on the rural landscape of his own childhood.

“When I was a child, my family and I lived on a farm… no neighbors for miles,” Brucker explained. “The isolation can be very terrifying, so my goal was to capture that feeling. No one can hear you, no one is going to rescue you if something goes wrong. You’re on your own.”

Built for the Found-Footage Community

With over 15 feature films already under their belt, the team at Horror Dadz Productions knows exactly what makes a first-person horror film work. Brucker is confident that Night Terror delivers exactly what the community has been craving: raw, unpolished, and claustrophobic scares.

The film features a dedicated ensemble of rising talent, including Marleigh Arnold, Hunter Nino, Madelynn Wierda, Berkeley Slightom, and Samuel J. Howard.

We’ll let you know when the release date is announced. In the meantime, check out the first teaser trailer for Night Terror.
