We reported back in February of 2015 that Stephen King’s novel Cell was coming to the big screen, but we have heard nothing since about the film, until now. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, who both starred in King’s 1408, will be reuniting for Cell. Isabelle Fuhrman, Stacy Keach, Lloyd Kaufman, Griffin Freeman, Joshua Mikel and Wilbur Fitzgerald also star in the film.
Cell follows Cusack’s character, an artist, who teams up with other survivors after a mysterious cell phone signal turns much of the population into mindless killers.
The film was scripted by King and The Last House on the Left’s Adam Alleca. Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) will direct. Cell will premiere at Glasgow Film Festival in Scotland this February, followed by it’s general release later this year.
