Fans of the Tremors franchise have been eagerly awaiting the sixth film of the franchise. We shared the news that Tremors VI had wrapped filming on March 10th. Now, Michael Gross, who plays weapons aficionado Burt Gummer, announced via Facebook that the release date has been set for the first of the year by Universal.
In Tremors VI, Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the arctic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!”
Don Michael Paul returns to direct this installment, based on the script by Tremors V writer John Whelpley. Kennedy and Gross star with Tanya van Graan (Death Race: Inferno), Rob van Vuuren (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), Greg Kriek (Blood and Glory), Jamie-Lee Money, Christie Peruso, Jenna Upton, and Kiroshan Naidoo co-starring.
Tremors VI will open in theaters on January 30, 2018.
