From the producers of the amazing disaster movie The Wave (review) comes The Quake (aka Skjelvet), acquired by Magnolia Pictures at Cannes.
Directed by Roar Uthaug, The Wave, which was labeled the first disaster flick from Norway, was not your average, run-of-the-mill disaster film. Instead of focusing on the physical destruction, it focused more on the emotional turmoil the characters were experiencing. It also didn’t hurt that film looked amazing.

Screen Daily has reported that the John Andreas Anderson-directed, $6.4 million project was inspired by a real-life event, the earthquake that shook Oslo in 1904 that took the lives of 145 people.
The Wave stars Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Jonas Hoff Oftebro will also be starring in The Quake. Katherine Thorborg Johansen, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, and Ravdeep Singh Bajwa will be co-starring.

The Quake will arrive in Norway on August 30, 2018, followed by its US release later this year.
