According to ‘The Wrap’ Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is now in negotiations to both produce and star in a new reboot of the classic horror-comedy ‘Big Trouble In Little China’. Johnson has his sights set on playing the main role of Jack Burton, originally played by Kurt Russell. According to reports Ashley Miller and Zach Stenz, the writing duo who also wrote ‘X-Men: First Class’, will be penning the new version of the script.
In the 1986 film, directed by John Carpenter, trucker Jack Burton gets caught in the middle of a supernatural battle in the Chinatown section of San Francisco. Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) starred as the love interest of Burton (Russell) in this cult classic.
Do we need another remake? Personally, I don’t think so. Russell was perfect for his role, let’s face it, classics are called classics for a reason. It just blows my mind.
We will keep you posted as the story continues to develop.
