Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment company, has just announced the release date for Creatures of Necessity, the directorial debut of acclaimed South African cinematographer Christian Kazadi (“24 Hours Blind,” Blinkers”).
The indie film was written and produced by prolific Nigerian novelist Njedeh Anthony (“Exceptional Beings,” “Mind Crawlers”).
Creatures of Necessity is being hailed as “the most delicious dish this holiday season.” And is equal parts Reservoir Dogs meets Fleabag with just the right touch of Gone Girl, this wickedly enjoyable thriller will keep you guessing until the last frame.
In the thriller, “After 13 days without receiving a ransom and their identities now unveiled, everyone involved with the kidnapping of Isabella Contini, has hit their breaking point and releases their demons. The chaotic issues in the lives of the kidnappers overshadow their crime, while their victim, weighed by her wavering mind, must figure out how to escape, armed only with her wits.”
The cast includes Mindy Gilkerson (“The Oath: Outbreak,” “Death Count”), Dane Oliver (“The Resonator,” “Cupid’s Match”), Isaiah Locust (“The Education of a Negro,” “Cooler Than Most”), Andrew John Morrison (“Capital Joe,” “the Holzer Files”), Johnjay Fitch (“American Violence,” “Clowntergiest”), Amy Lyndon (“Law & Order: LA,” “Ugly Betty”), and Josephine Chang (“Little in Common,” “Make a Wish”).
The Gestalt Effect production company was founded 10 years ago, Creatures of Necessity was their first dive into all aspects of film production. Their second feature film, Exceptional Beings directed by Njedeh Anthony will be released early next year.
Creatures of Necessity is led by a vastly talented team of filmmakers beginning with director Christian Kazadi; writer and producer Njedeh Anthony; director of cinematography Chad Sano (“Grease Live!,” “My Crazy Ex”),; executive producers Ese Oduyoye, Ohi Oshiame, Ann Ossai, III Gallica LLC, Stanley Okpor; editors Hans Samkay (“Match,” “Blood Tulips”), James Brown (“Tori Amos: The Complete Videos 1991-1998,” “When It Rings”), and Kazadi; and music by Sergey Leontyev. This incredible international film team is based in Los Angeles and busily prepping their next feature films.
