While fans were excited last week to learn the Hellboy would be getting a new R-rated sequel. However, excitement quickly turned to shock when we reported that not only will Guillermo del Toro not be involved, but that Ron Perlman will not be reprising his role as Hellboy. Today, we have an update. The sequel, from director Neil Marshall (The Descent), now has an official working title Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. In the comic series created by Mike Mignola, who will be writing the script with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden, there is a character known as the Queen of Blood, part of the ‘Wild Hunt’ story arc. There is also a possibility of a story that involves vampires who Hellboy clashed with in the comics. Stranger Things actor David Harbour will be playing Hellboy in the sequel. While there is no doubt that he is a talented actor, many might have trouble seeing him as the character.

John McNaughton’s 1986 thriller Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer was gritty and everything that type of film is supposed to be. Michael Rooker starred as Henry, a character inspired by real-life serial killers Henry Lee Lucus and Ottis Toole. After a span of over 30 years Rooker and McNaughton are teaming up for another project. The duo will be working on the film adaption of Flannery O’Connor’s ‘A Good Man Is Hard to Find’, Deadline reports. The short story, viewed as a classic, features a family on a road trip and and a escaped convict known as “The Misfit”. With both Rooker and McNaughton involved with the project, I have no doubt the film will be fantastic. ‘A Good Man Is Hard to Find’ will be produced by Ed Richardson under the banner of R&R Productions Worldwide, based in Atlanta. Mike Sears and David Zander will co-produce.

Fans of Cartoon Network’s hilarious “Adult Swim” series Rick and Morty are eagerly awaiting the second episode of the third season which will air this summer. They are almost as excited as fans of the Alien franchise to see Alien: Covenant open in theaters on May 19th. There is a new clip, which is brilliant, that combines the two in the same universe. While in space, Rick and Morty receive a signal for help from a ship in trouble. At Morty’s insistence, he and Rick board the Covenant and discover the key to the crew’s survival. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s comical masterpiece, Rick and Morty, centers on super scientist Rick, who spends most of his time tanked, and the adventures he has with his grandson Morty. Both characters are voiced by Roiland. One upcoming episode involves Roiland to get very drunk. Yeah, it’s that kind of show.

As FOX’s The Exorcist began to approach its season finale fans were praying it would be renewed, but that wasn’t the case. Even the show’s creator Jeremy Slater expressed his desire for a second season, but still nothing. We had all pretty much given up hope that we would ever see the story’s next chapter. But today, FOX has answered our prayers and granted the show a second season! Season two of the supernatural series, loosely tied to William Friedkin’s iconic film, will begin a new chapter. Slater told fans last year that he wanted to feature the priests teaming up to help a new family. A potential season two would find Marcus, Tomas and Bennett tasked with helping a new family or a new case of possession. That doesn’t mean we’ll never see any of the Rances again, but I think the fans would feel disappointed and cheated if we simply brought Captain Howdy back for round three. The
