Eileen Dietz to Attend LAKE ALICE World Premiere

On January 22nd of 2017, the indie horror film Lake Alice will have it’s World Premiere at The Indie Lounge in Park City, UT. Although this premier is taking place during the Sundance Film Festival, it is NOT a part of the festival’s features lineup. Among the attendees at the invitation only premier will be featured actress Eileen Dietz, who plays the role of Jane Patterson in the film. Dietz has a career that spans over 50 years, during which she has been involved in numerous award winning projects. Dietz made quite possibly her most iconic on screen appearance in the film adaptation of William Peter Blatty’s novel, The Exorcist. However, she was not credited for her contribution as the face of the demon known as Pazuzu. She also doubled for Linda Blair in some scenes, for which she was also uncredited. The most famous of these scenes is the one in which Regan spews vile green vomit on Father

Friday The 13th – The Scariest Jason Moment of All Time.

Today, as you all already know my Little Monsters, is Friday the 13th. It’s a day when some people want to stay home and pull the covers over their heads in order to avoid bad luck or a cruel twist of fate. Some take it as a personal challenge for fate to just go ahead and try something if it dares to do so…grrrr. But moreover, it tends to bring to mind the tragic story of a grieving mother of a dead son AND the crazy, kill rampage she perpetrates on a group of camp counselors who had NOTHING to do with it. Now while Jason was not the focal point of the original Sean Cunningham classic, he definitely was the driving force behind the subsequent chapters in the franchise. And despite only having very brief screen time in the 1980 film, Ari Lehman’s curtain call as Jason in the final minutes has always registered with me as hands down

Plot vs. Gore…Can We Not Have Both?

I was watching a terrifying movie the other day and I made a realization. I will not name movies here because I do not want to throw anyone under the bus, but I realized it feels as though gore and plot have become mutually exclusive. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love gore. I love watching faces and limbs get ripped off. I love watching blood spatter across the screen and hearing screams of victims. I am a huge fan! However, this movie that I watched had almost no gore, almost no blood, no jump scares and was, by far, the best horror movie I have seen in a very long time. The plot was heavy with depth, the characters got developed, I was helplessly sucked in to the story and I loved every minute of it! Again, I am not speaking against gore and bloodbaths caused by torture and machetes, but I am speaking out against movies that are

Movie Review: Hotel of the Damned is Vacant of Scares or Originality

It’s said that one should never judge a book by it’s cover. One should also not make assumptions based on a tile, such as assuming the type of horror movie one is about to see. That being said, let’s begin, my Little Monsters. Nicky is an ex-con, a brand new one at that since he has just this day been released from prison. After being reunited with his good friend Jimmy, Nicky has one more reunion in n mind – one with his estranged daughter Eliza. Nicky and Jimmy track Eliza down, only to find (much to his dismay) she is living with her druggy boyfriend, Bogdan. This just won’t do, so Nicky removes Eliza from this “situation”. While on the road back to town, someone runs out into the road causing them to swerve and wreck their car. They are in the middle of nowhere, with no working mode of transport and no signs of anyone to provide help

Short Film “Agatha” Brings Simple Terror to Your Screen

Writer/Producer Timothy Vandenberg (Quattelbaum, 4th and Long, Song of a Fifth Grade Samurai) and Producer John Mario Marchioni bring a new horror to the short film world. The 8-minute long film Agatha tells the story of an orphan girl who “is paid handsomely by an old woman to bring meals to someone living in her attic until the girl crosses the one boundary set for her, and discovers a deadly truth.” Set in the Pennsylvania 1800s, orphans were a common occurrence and hundreds of children roamed the streets and were filling orphanages. This story deals with one curious girl and a mysterious woman in an attic who has an all too enticing secret. In an interview, Vanderberg discusses the challenge of finding the right cast and how happy he is with each performance. He also mentions a full length script the he has ready for when the time comes. Starring Louise Ogel, Renee Farrabow, and Penny Kohut, with Tony Rosen

More Hannibal? Don’t Hold Your Breath

More Hannibal? Who wants it? I know that I do. Yes, season 3 ended in a fairly satisfying way, but movieplot.com just released an interview with Hugh Dancy who plays Will Graham in the ground breaking series and basically, don’t get your hopes up for new episodes any time soon. “My feeling is that, knock on wood, if it came around again, it wouldn’t be a bad thing for it to be four or five years later. That might actually be kind of interesting. How weird would that be, on a personal level, to find yourself back with those people? ‘So… where did we leave off?’” So, if Dancy gets his way, we can look forward to new episodes in about 2020…not the news I was hoping for. The reason for the hiatus, according to Dancy, is that creator Bryan Fuller wants to avoid delving in to Silence of the Lamb’s territory. Fuller, had initially intended for the show cycle

The Autopsy of Jane Doe: The Character is Dead, but the Movie Thrives

I just finished the André Øvredal directed film The Autopsy of Jane Doe. Going into this movie, I was completely unaware of what it was about other than the brief synopsis on imdb.com. I chose to watch it because I had heard it was good and I am a fan of the starring actors. The film is obviously billed as a horror movie, but I didn’t know what type and, in the very best of ways, I didn’t expect what it was. I promise to give away no spoilers or even any hints about what to expect, but I strongly, strongly urge everyone to watch this movie. It did no rely of cheap thrills or over the top ridiculousness. My biggest issue with many horror movies is that the climax always ends up being some extravagant, highly destructive finale that doesn’t match the rest of the movie. This movie did not do that. The Autopsy of Jane Doe established a

Can You Guess My Name?

I have been doing a number of articles on fairy tales. I think that the Grimm Brothers especially are phenomenal story tellers and the two of the originators of the horror genre. Their characters range from witches and anamorphic animals to princes and queens. In my opinion, however, one of their best characters is a little imp who appears when people are desperate and willing to make a trades of various value. This imp is called a manikin in the tale which is basically just an excessively small person with no other noticeable defects. Nevertheless, many interpretations of this character have him as anything from a slightly deformed person to an outright troll. If you haven’t guessed his name by now, you aren’t alone. In fact, that’s kind of an integral part of the story. Rumpelstiltskin is an iconic character and an extremely unheralded villain. The creature’s name itself may be why he is visualized as a troll of goblin.

Charles Manson – The Man Who Thinks He is Both Christ and Satan

Monsters are real. Many articles have and will be written about mass murderers, serial killers, sociopaths and every other type of terror anyone can imagine. That being said, there are few monsters who come close to the topic of today’s article. This man brainwashed others to do, in his own words, Satan’s work. He was a beacon of evil for lost and damaged souls to latch onto and feel part of something. This monster gave his disciples purpose…the abominable purpose of Helter Skelter. Charles Manson was never convicted of murder himself, but he has spent nearly a lifetime in prison for composing one of the most publicised and vicious mass murders in modern history…and that is only a fraction of his reign of terror. The timing of this article coincides with Manson being admitted to a California hospital due to an undisclosed illness. Rumour is that Manson is suffering from gastrointestinal issues, but it is against federal and state law
