Pop! Vinyl Releases Preview Of Krampus Toys

I know, I know, it’s not even the most wonderful time of the year yet (obviously I mean Halloween), but we have to talk about Christmas for just a second. Pop! Vinyl is releasing new Krampus bobble heads! I know for sure that they will be on my wish list. Unfortunately, these are not based on the 2015 movie, but they still look spectacular. If anyone is still unaware of who Krampus is, he is basically the antithesis of Santa. He is a very old tradition, but was virtually lost until recently. Now he is back to terrorize those on the naughty list. Along with the standard brown/grey toy, a red/black chase version will also be available. The latter is a 1-in-6 rarity. Additionally, a couple stores will be getting their own exclusives… Hot Topic – “Flocked Krampus” Hot Topic – “Snow-Flocked Krampus,” 1-in-6 chase FYE – “Frozen Krampus” Look for all five Krampus vinyl toys in November.

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Fairuza Balk

We are midway through another week, my Little Monsters, which means it’s time again to focus on a wonderful Woman of Horror. The focus this Wednesday is on a lovely and talented woman, who I personally wish were more of a fixture in the horror genre, Miss Fairuza Balk. Fairuza Alejandra Feldthouse is a California girl by birth, having been born in Point Reyes, CA to Solomon Feldthouse and Cathryn Balk. So taken with his baby daughter’s blue eyes, Solomon exclaimed, “Fairuza!” (which is the Farsi word for turquoise), and thus she had her name. She began her childhood, growing up in a commune in Cloverdale, CA with her mother, before they later moved on to Vancouver, British Columbia. It was at this time that Fairuza made her television acting debut in the ABC television movie, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. ‘Lore’ TV Show Now Has A Release Date

A few weeks ago we shared an article listing some of the more notable podcasts for horror fans. One of the podcasts we mentioned is called Lore. I’m a big fan of this particular podcast for several reasons. Aaron Mahnke, the narrator, does a brilliant job and he actually has a pleasant voice to listen to–many podcast narrators don’t! The background music is perfectly creepy and atmospheric and the stories themselves delve into the folklore that many of our favorite horror films and books are based upon. Now fans of Lore have more than just a podcast to look forward to! Last week, it was announced that the Lore T.V. Show will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, October 13th. The date couldn’t be more perfect! The show will highlight episodes of the podcast and combine animation, narration and live action.

The Film Empire Presents ‘Scrypt To Screen’ Contest

‘Annabelle: Creation’ Overtakes ‘Get Out’ As Most Profitable Horror Film Of The Year

With a world wide gross of 253 million dollars, Annabelle: Creation is now the most profitable horror film of the year, beating Get Out’s 252 million. Neither is a shabby haul, with both films far exceeding expectations. However Get Out being both an original I.P. and critically adored had many rooting for it to succeed over Annabelle: Creation, the fourth film in The Conjuring Universe and a prequel to the not very well liked at all Annabelle, released back in 2014. Overall it’s been an underwhelming year not just for horror, but movies in general, with several of the lowest box office weekends in recent history, and a steady stream of high profile flops. For every Get Out there seemed to be at least two releases like A Cure For Wellness. With It released this weekend and on track to pull in more than a few pennies , there’s still plenty of time for the year to turn things around.

Sony To Reboot ‘The Crow’

I remember being blown away by ‘The Crow’ (1994) and I felt akin to the anti-hero seeking revenge for his and his girlfriend’s murder. However, the sequels were slightly…well…extremely underwhelming. This is why horrorfuel.com is excited to announce that Sony is going to try their hand at making ‘The Crow: Reborn’. Deadline just announced that the studio is giving James O’Barr’s beloved comic another chance. But this time, they’re going to stay more loyal to the source material. His film is the ‘Macbeth’ of cinema. It has been plagued with setbacks and tragedy (most notably the death of Brandon Lee during the filming of the original). Jason Momoa was rumoured to be taking the title role, but now that he is busy with ‘Auquaman’ there is no confirmation if he is still attached to the project. Obviously we will keep you posted right here!

Stephen King To Get The Rights Back To Several Films Based On His Work

Stephen King had a busy week, as he was filing to get the rights back to several 80s films based on his work. As it turns out, the films in question are The Dead Zone, Cujo, Creepshow, Cat’s Eye, Firestarter and Children of the Corn. The question on many horror fans’ minds is “why”? One rumor is that King wants control of the rights free and clear so that he can use the characters in the upcoming Hulu series Castle Rock, helmed by J.J. Abrams. That would imply that the new show will include elements from the period of what some argue is King’s best work. Either way, Castle Rock is certainly something for horror fans to look forward to.
