Bruce Campbell Gives An Update On The Status of ‘Bubba-Ho-Tep 2’

Bubba-Ho-Tep might be one of the weirdest little horror comedies ever made, starring Bruce Campbell as a man who claims to be an elderly Elvis (The King playing The King), a black JFK, and a soul sucking mummy dressed like John Wayne. None of it really makes much (or any) sense, but Bubba rises above the sum of its jumbled parts, turning into one of the most absurd and hilarious horror comedies of it’s era. The original released way back in 2002, leaving fans moaning for a sequel; a sequel they unfortunately aren’t going to get. The culprit? Sonny Landham And My Personal Connection With ‘Predator’

Many fans were saddened last Friday to hear of the passing of Sonny Landham. Mr. Landham starred in films like 48 hours, The Warriors and one of my favorite adventure flicks from the 80s, Firewalker. However, it was his role as “Billy” in 1987’s Predator that he’s best remembered for. Sonny Landham was 76 when he passed. I mentioned that fans were saddened at his passing, and I’m certainly one of them. But for me, it’s more than just mourning the loss of a memorable character. You see, I have a special place in my heart for Predator, and it’s tied to my military service. ‘Unbreakable’ Sequel ‘Glass’ Release Official Plot Synopsis Revealed

Perhaps the biggest twist of Split (other than that M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong finally released another decent film) is how it’s a sequel too 2000 superhero film Unbreakable. But not that the secrets out, a third film, named Glass, the title of Samuel L. Jackson’s villain, is officially in the works, with a plot synopsis giving us a hint where the movie might be heading. “Following the conclusion of SPLIT, GLASS finds David Dunn pursuing Kevin Wendell Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.” James McAvoy is confirmed to return as The Beast, with both Jackson and Willis reprising their roles from Unbreakable as well. The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival returns to New York City October 12th -15th, bringing with it more ghouls and ghosts than ever before. ‘Goodnight, Gracie’, A Chilling Wide-Awake Nightmare

Goodnight, Gracie, a new short film written and directed by Stellan Kendrick, is a creepy, beautifully filmed, horrific tale about faith, family, childhood fears, and things that go bump in the night. The cast and crew screening for Goodnight, Gracie, was held at Evidence Film Studios in Los Angeles, a fantastic venue that the film’s producers had taken full advantage of. Moody multi-colored lights everywhere, music pumping, specialty film-themed cocktails flowing, clips of various well known, and not so well known horror films clips played on the white cyclorama that took up the huge corner of the warehouse style space, and concept art and storyboards covered the walls like a bloody murderous East Village art show. There were about 100 people in attendance, dressed to the nines, laughing and buzzing around the space, taking photos with the movie props in front of the faux brick wall step-and-repeat with the ingenious self-taking photo set up. Movie Review: ‘Man Underground’ Is More Human Drama Than Sci-Fi…And That’s OK

Willem Koda is reclusive and a tad socially awkward. He worked as a geologist on a project for the US government, and during his tenure encountered extra terrestrials. Now he speaks to groups with like minded interests, although there are some who would refer to him as a conspiracy theorist, based on his personal accounts about the existence of aliens and the role of the government in covering it up. Willem intends to turn the story surrounding his alien encounters into a film, and enlists his one true friend, Todd, to help him in this endeavor. During a one of his routine daily meals at the local diner, Willem meets a young twenty-something waitress named Flossie. Sometimes when it comes to getting credit where credit is due, a person is left out in the cold without said deserved recognition. Frankly, my Little Monsters, that doesn’t sit well with me. And it’s something that today’s wonderful Woman of Horror had to experience in relation to what can be considered to be arguably her most famous cinematic contribution, but we’ll get into that momentarily. Eileen Dietz was born in Bayside, New York, and is one of three daughters in her family. She is one of a pair of identical twins, so when it comes down to which of the two is the oldest it’s most likely negligible, as they were likely born within mere minutes of one another. A Summer Staple Get’s Scary With ‘THE ICE CREAM TRUCK’

Skidding end at the tail end of the summer horror season comes ‘THE ICE CREAM TRUCK’, one of the creepiest looking indie films I’ve ever seen. There’s something about suburbia that’s never sat well with me. Behind picket fences and backyard barbecues, there’s always something sinister brewing, festering and growing strong in the deceit. Those cookie cutter houses on the outskirts of the city are supposed to be safe, a place where children run and play, old men feed pigeons, young couples kiss under the stars. Nosferatu- this is a word you’re all familiar with, isn’t that right my Little Monsters? The word has about as many explanations regarding its meaning and origin as there have been films made about the creature the word represents. If you’re a fan of Adam Green’s Hatchet franchise and you live in the L.A. area, you’d better cancel any plans you had for next Tuesday, August 22nd. In celebration of the film’s 10th anniversary, director Adam Green will be screening the original Hatchet FOR FREE at Arclight Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA next Tuesday night.
