What’s The Salary Of You’re Favorite Superhero?

While superhero’s tend to fight monsters rather than celebrate them like we at Horrorfuel do, they’re still a huge part of pop culture. And plenty of comic book characters can be suitably horrific in their own right (The New 52 Joker comes to mind). The folks over at Zippia.com, who love tight wearing do-gooders even more than we do, have put together an interesting and well researched graph into just how much our favorite superhero’s are making. Turns out not all of them have that Batman dead parent swag going for them, with jobs ranging from brain surgeon to ice-cream scooper. No wonder Ant-Man was a former thief.

Short Film Review: ‘Dark Tenet’ Doesn’t Finish What It Starts

Three friends sit relaxing and enjoying the tranquility afforded them by the secluded location of their cabin. Suddenly the serenity is shattered by frantic screaming and banging at the cabin door. When they open the door to see what the commotion is all about, a young woman stripped down to her undies runs inside seeking shelter. They get the girl a blanket to wrap up in and try to get her to calmly explain what’s going on. As it turns out, this young woman, named amber, has just escaped from some people who ha abducted her for some sort of ritual. But during her escape, Amber may have led her captors right to the place where she has sought shelter, potentially putting everyone in danger. ‘Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’ To Hit Theaters Again This Friday

In celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary, Close Encounters of the Third Kind will be re-released this Friday in Select AMC theaters. Close Encounters of the Third Kind was directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, and it was originally released in November 1977. The film was a hit, grossing $120 million domestically and $300 million worldwide. The film was also nominated for 8 Oscars, ultimately winning for best cinematography. Close Encounters of the Third Kind stars Richard Dreyfuss, Francois Truffaut and Teri Garr. Close Encounters of the Third Kind looked amazing on the big screen, but you’d only know that if are 40 or older. This Friday, a younger generation of fans will have the opportunity to experience the cinematic spectacle first hand. Be sure to check an AMC theater near you for show times.

Haunted Destinations: St. Augustine, FL

We’re continuing our northward tour of haunted locations throughout America. We started in Key West, FL and now we’re visiting St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States, so it’s not really surprising that by most accounts it’s also among the top 3 most haunted cities in the U.S., too. Savannah, GA and New Orleans are often mentioned as the other two-thirds of the most haunted list. Ed Skrein Resigns From ‘Hellboy’ Reboot

Amid whitewashing controversy of his casting as asian comic book character Major Ben Daimo, Ed Skrein has departed the upcoming R rated reboot Hellboy reboot. Ben Daimo Ed Skrein Hollywood has had a rough history with the casting of white actors in non-white roles, and while I like Skrein as an actor (most notably in The Transporter reboot and Deadpool) I can applaud his decision to step down. Although I wouldn’t put it past Hollywood to cast another white actor in his stead. Seriously, guys, there’s plenty of Asian badasses out there who would rock the part. Not that was ever likely to see it….

Taylor Swift Goes Full Killer Zombie

Looks like Taylor Swift is channeling her inner Michael Jackson circa 1982. Either that, or she is doing an audition for ‘The Walking Dead’ that nobody expected. The new video which was premiered at the MTV Music Video Awards last night is for the song ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and shows Swift killing off versions of herself one by one to bring in the new era of her career. I wonder what new era it is. I wonder what personalities she killed off because the song sounds just as angsty and whiny as all of her other hits, but that’s just my opinion…it doesn’t mean it’s a bad song, just not my cup o’ tea. The cool part of this song is that it is a really cool little horror short. Directed by ‘Detention’ filmmaker Joseph Kahn, the film really does look cool.
