5 Podcast Recommendations For Horror Fans

If you’re a horror fan and you don’t listen to podcasts you’re missing out! Podcasts, in general, are a great way to fill your daily commute, and you can find countless programs on virtually any topic imaginable. For the horror fan, there are tons of untapped entertainment just waiting to be downloaded! To get you started, here’s a list of 5 of my personal favorites, in no particular order: Stephen King Cast The Stephen King Cast is a weekly podcast where the host reviews every single Stephen King work, both book and film adaptation in chronological order. He provides a lot of insightful retrospection, and while I don’t agree with every one of his opinions, I do look forward to his show every week. Lore Lore is probably my favorite horror-related podcast. The host, Aaron Mahnke, is a fantastic narrator (something that isn’t easily said about all podcasts…) and the soundtrack that accompanies the episodes is brilliant. From the podcast’s

Movie Review: ‘Bonejangles’ Is A Bungled Attempt At Horror Comedy.

Edgar Friendly Jr. aka Bonejangles is ion the loose and a small tow police force has dispatched all units in an attempt to bring him in. After a brief fracas and the expenditure of nearly all of the towns police force, a few surviving officers manage to subdue the murderous juggernaut. Now these few remaining police officers must transport Bonejangles to a drop-off point where another contingent of police will meet them to pick up and transport the captive killer on the second leg of the journey to an asylum. The meeting point for this joint prisoner transport effort just happens to be in a sleepy little rural town called Argento – a town that one of the officers knows very well. In fact this officer’s ex-girlfriend is due to be married to the town’s rather rednecky hero, right around the time of Bonejangles’ handoff. And while this may make his return awkward enough things are about to get completely

‘Crocodylus’ Trailer Reminds Us To Stay Out Of The Water

In the tradition of giant, prehistoric creatures being unearthed, Across The Pond Films present’s Myles Erfurth and Michael McLaren film ‘Crocodylus’. Directed by Myles Erfurth and starring Antoni Corone, Dawm Soleri, Roberto Escobar, Noa Lindberg, and Courtney Dlugos. When news comes that a local farmer has unearthed a prehistoric skull, Paleontologists are amazed to discover that it is the skull of the monstrous Crocodylus, a Nile crocodile whose only evident existence was thought to be deep in the African continent. Soon, more than just a skull appears and the peaceful town is attacked by the one-mythical monster! The trailer looks intense and exciting and certainly reminds us all that we don’t really know what creatures reside under the calm surface of the water.

New “Leatherface’ Trailer Rev’s Up The Hype

When Leatherface, a Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, was first announced I was a little wary; unlike Micheal Myers, Freddy Krueger, or even Jason, Leatherface didn’t have much of an origin story in his debut film. And frankly, he didn’t need one. The skin mask and hum of a chainsaw were all the big crossdressing brute needed to become one of the most terrifying villains in horror history. The newest trailer however, has got me a little more excited. Containing an asylum escape, what looks like a small army of cops (who will inevitable become power tool fodder) and Little Leatherface receiving his first chainsaw, the film’s actually starting to look like it might become the first good Texas Chainsaw film in years. The first good one in 43 years if your asking me, but that’s neither here nor there……

Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark Releases Book

Any horror fan knows the iconic character of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. From her witty double entendres to her revealing double….well, you know. She is scary, fun, sexy, morbid, funny, and everything else horror should be! To celebrate her phenomenal 35 year (and ongoing) career, everyone’s favorite mistress is releasing a hardcover book with nearly 300 pages of photographs spanning her beginnings until the present. Available for order now, the book will be released this October. Born as Cassandra Peterson in Kansas, Elvira did everything from go-go dancing to modelling to acting until the perfect role came to her. Always a fan of horror, Peterson grabbed the opportunity to reinvent the classic character Vampira character played by Maila Elizabeth Syrjäniemi. From 1981-1986 she hosted the wildly fantastic ‘Elvira’s Movie Macabre’ as well as appearing in comic books, cartoon, pinball machines, toys, video games (most recently in ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Absolution). This book spans it all! It

What Are You Doing In My Sewers: Shrek Invades The New ‘It’ Trailer

Just when you thought The Cat In The Hat was the scariest thing hanging out in the Derry Sewers, a certain ogre pokes his ugly green head out. Ogres are like onions! Ogres are like onions! I’m starting to think the It trailer would still be scary if you replaced Pennywise with a goldfish, let alone an 8 foot tall foul smelling monster like Shrek. Thats not a bad question actually; what does Pennywise smell like? Shouldn’t that white cotton clown costume be smeared in brown? I really hope “insert random slightly creepy children character Into It trailer” becomes a new meme. Maybe next up The Grinch? Yep….not terrifying at all.

Alice Cooper’s New Album ‘Paranormal’ Is A Shock’n, Rock’n Blast From The Past

Shock rocker Alice Cooper released his first album in 6 years last week. Released on July 28, Paranormal is an album that long-time Alice Cooper fans will adore, as it oozes with the kind of old school Alice songs that got imbedded into the rock culture of the 70s and 80s. It’s for good reason, too, as the album features two songs written and recorded with the original members of The Alice Cooper Band. The album also features tracks with guest appearances by U2 drummer Larry Mullen, Roger Glover of Deep Purple and ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons. As if the cameos weren’t enough of a treat, the album also comes with 6 classic Alice Cooper hits, recorded live at a show last year in Columbus, Ohio. In a recent interview with blabbermouth.net, Cooper had this to say regarding the title of the new album: “My definition of paranormal is something that is ‘other than normal’ or ‘alongside of normal’.
