David Harbour Looks Savage AF In The New Image From ‘Hellboy’

The first official image has arrived of David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Hellboy from Neil Marshall’s new film and he looks savage af. Color us impressed. Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, and Daniel Dae Kim round out the main cast in the film about Hellboy caught between two worlds, the human and the supernatural. Hellboy will have to battle an ancient sorceress hell-bent on destroying mankind in this R-rated film. The film is based on the comic series created by Mike Mignola, who wrote the script with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden. Hellboy will arrive in theaters on January 11, 2019, the same release date as Lionsgate’s crime thriller Kin.

Series Adaptation Of Comic “October Faction” Coming To Netflix

Fantasy meets horror in the upcoming Netflix series “October Faction“, from the executive producer of “Sleepy Hollow” and “Bones”. Based on the supernatural comic by the same name from Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), the series follows a famous family of monster hunters that includes a witch and a warlock. “Bones” actress Tamara Taylor stars alongside Maxim Roy, J.C. Mackenzie, Aurora Burghart, Gabriel Darku, Wendy Crewson, Megan Follows, Stephen McHattie, Praneet Akilla, Nicola Correia-Damude, and Clavin Desautels. “The series follows globetrotting monster hunters Fred (MacKenzie) and Deloris Allen (Taylor) who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff (Darku) and Viv (Burghart). Hulu Orders Pilot For ‘Sweet Tooth’ Series Adaptation

Jeff Lemire‘s comic book series Sweet Tooth is getting a series adaptation ordered by Hulu with Stake Land‘s Jim Mickle set to write and direct. Set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by human/animal hybrids, the comic made its debut back in 2009 via Vertigo Entertainment. The coming-of-age tale centers on Gus, who is half boy, half deer. Gus leaves home only to discover that the world has been ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He meets and joins a family of hybrids and humans searching to find answers about what happened to the world, ultimately discovering a conspiracy that will force Gus to question his very own existence. Sweet Tooth is from Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey’s Team Downey banner along with Hap and Leonard co-creator Jim Mickle and Warner Bros. TV.

Kevin Durand Set To Play Villain In DC’s “Swamp Thing”

The cast of James Wan’s DC series “Swamp Thing” continues to grow. Today, Kevin Durand has joined the cast that already includes Candyman’s Virginia Madsen, along with Crystal Reed, Jeryl Prescott, Jennifer Beals, Maria Sten, and Crystal Reed, with Friday the 13th‘s Derek Mears playing the title character based on the comic created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. Durand has been cast as Jason Woodtrue, who is described as a brilliant but prickly “genius who is a biogeneticist without equal and he knows it. Brought in to study the unique properties of a small-town Louisiana swamp, Woodrue becomes fixated on unlocking the potential contained within — leading to tragic and monstrous consequences.” Woodtrue is also known as the super-villain Floronic Man aka Floro aka the Seeder, part human, part plant. ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Hit With $150M Lawsuit

Netflix and Warner Brothers were hit with a $150 million dollar lawsuit over the appearance of the satanic deity Baphomet in their new series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and the ones filing the lawsuit (might surprise you) are The Satanic Temple, not to be confused with The Church of Satan. The Satanic Temple is a progressive and more politically involved movement that was formed in 2012. The reason for the upset is the focus of the show takes place around a school called The Academy of Unseen Arts in which a statue of Baphomet is seen. The Satanic Temple claims the show not only infringed on the copyright of the image of the goat-headed deity but also defamed it and misled audiences to its origin. Candyman actress Virginia Madsen has joined DC’s “Swamp Thing” series as a lead character, Deadline is reporting. Madsen will be playing the role of Maria Sunderland, a woman married to local businessman Avery Sunderland. New Details And Poster Creep In For Shudder’s “Creepshow”

“The Walking Dead’s” director/producer/and special effects master Greg Nicotero is the man behind Shudder‘s upcoming “Creepshow” series with new details emerging at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con including the fact that major names are involved including Stephen King and his son Joe Hill, as well as Joe R. Landsdale (Bubba Ho-Tep). The new poster was also unveiled (above). Reportedly, Nicotero stated that the series will have w a different feel from episode to episode which will not be constrained to a particular time frame like most series are. Nicotero also has plans to produce a digital comic for each episode as well, with hopes that they may one day be turned into a physical comic series. The original Creepshow film debuted in 1982 featuring segments written by Stephen King and was directed by genre legend George A. Romero.

Jennifer Beals Joins “Swamp Thing”

DC’s upcoming “Swamp Things” series continues to announce new cast members. Variety is reporting that the latest addition is “Taken” actress Jennifer Beals who also starred in “The L Word”, Book of Eli, and The Grudge 2. Beals’ character Sheriff Lucilia Cable has been described as “tough as nails” with a fierce devotion to her son Matt and has sworn to protect the town of Marais, a community beset by strange forces. She joins Crystal Reed and Maria Sten. We reported back in September that Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead) has been announced as the title character. Today, we have the trailer and preview of Chapter One for Acursian, a thrilling, imaginative comic series starring John Barrowman (“Doctor Who,” “Torchwood,” “Arrow”), from Legendary, the same company behind Godzilla: Rise of the Monsters coming in May of 2019.
