Does “A Serbian Film” Go Too Far?

Throughout the decades of horror history, a whole lot of films have been claimed to be the hardest watches ever made. Peeping Tom in the 60’s, Salo, in the 70’s, the gamut of Japanese Guinea Pig films, and in the 80’s, and stuff like the French new wave and Asian extreme in the 00’s. But since its release in 2011, no film has even come close to what very might be the pinnacle of cinematic revulsion, “A Serbian Film”. I won’t be discussing the most intimate details of this film because A: They are based around topics not easily discussed even on a horror sight and B: The scene’s content, for the question I’m seeking to answer, doesn’t really matter. Suffice to say these two scenes are absolutely the most extreme I’ve ever seen in a film, and I imagine that nearly anyone who doesn’t dabble in actual snuff films will have seen. To put it bluntly, this is some

Devil’s Rejects Sequel Gets New Title

It’s been 13 years since the Firefly family met their bloody end on a long stretch of family, but “The Devil’s Rejects” will ride again in a long-awaited sequel from director Rob Zombie. Details have been few and far between since the film was announced last October, but if a report from Screenrant is accurate, the sequel could be getting a supernatural twist. The reported title is “The Devil’s Reject’s 2: Three From Hell.” The three, crazy chick Baby, long-haired hillbilly Otis, and killer clown Captain Spaulding are three of the most deliciously demented characters in film history. Any return from these crazy characters is a welcome return. While there haven’t been supernatural elements previously in the series, it doesn’t seem like a stretch that Zombie would find some mystical way to resurrect them. After all, Heaven doesn’t want them and Hell’s afraid they’ll take over!

Tina Romero Making A Zombie Film That Would Make Her Father George A. Romero Proud

Earlier this week we told you that Tina Romero, George A. Romero’s daughter, and Tom Savini will be directing episodes of a new web series. Now we can report that Tina Romero has another project in the works, one that her father would be proud of, a zombie movie. During a conversation with The Saunder Blog, Tina gave details about her upcoming film Queens of the Dead. Queens of the Dead is a fusion of two huge parts of my world: zombies and Gay nightlife,” she told the site. “It’s a tribute to my father as well as my entrée into the genre he grandfathered. I can’t say too much yet, but what I can tell you is that this film will have all the hallmarks of a George A. Romero classic: farce, politics, heroes, assholes, and most importantly, herds of silly and slow moving walkers that you can’t help but love. But I’m doing it Tina-style, and bringing the

GODZILLA: MONSTER PLANET Is A Kaiju Sized Misfire

Godzilla film’s have always been best enjoyed with a beer (or two…maybe just break out the whiskey), but “Monster Planet” is the first film in the long series that is best enjoyed with the television off. There’s no drug on Earth potent enough to help me enjoy this trash. Granted I’m coming at this film as a Godzilla fan, not an anime aficionado. I’m familiar enough with the big series, but I’d by know means describe myself as a fan of anime. Still, I struggle to see even the most trash consuming, self hating, katana carrying, selfdescribed weeaboo in Japan seeing “Monster Planet as anything beyond an utter failure. The one thing “Monster Planet” has in common with 2014’s Godzilla reboot is it’s utter lack of the titular monster. Seriously, Godzilla’s in this thing for like, 15 minutes. It’s a cartoon, so budget restraints aren’t a problem. Or maybe they were, as 90 percent of the animation is poorly dubbed,

Tom Savini And Tina Romero (George Romero’s Daughter) To Direct New Horror Webseries

Legendary makeup artist, actor, writer, director, and producer Tom Savini will be in the director’s chair for a new horror web series! Savini will be directing along with George A. Romero’s daughter Tina Romero, and Robert Tinnell who wrote the series and will produce. The announcement that the unnamed series had begun filming came via several tweets and Instagram posts from Savini, actress Mandy Simpson, and Savini’s right-hand man/actor Jason Baker who will also star in the series. Cant reveal too much, but prepare yourself for magic tricks, violence, revenge, and horror in the style of a silent film,” Savini’s Instagram post teases. “Imagine Oldboy shot as a silent film starring Lon Chaney Sr. It’s violent AF!!!” Baker said on Twitter. As soon as we know more we will give you an update. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bd_aDNegZvS/?hl=en&taken-by=thetomsavini #BTS shots of this awesome project I acted in for George Romero’s Filmmaking program and @thetomsavini Special FX program at @douglasedcenter. New Horror Wrestling Movie PARTS UNKNOWN Enters The Ring

Wrestling and horror goes together like peanut-butter and chocolate (or for a more morbid example, like horny camp counselors and machetes.) Elaborate origin stories, crazy costumes, and of course all the bone rattling, chair swinging, ladder elbow dropping violence you can handle. Suffice to say when word got round of new wrestling horror movie “PARTS UNKOWN” I got excited. Currently in post production, the film from “GILGAMESH” director Richard Chandler is scheduled to drop this spring. Released by the Boston Film Family, a Massachusetts based production company who specializes in grind house releases, the film will feature Chandler’s “signature use of unusual characters, bizarre scenarios, and stylized violence.” I’m not personally familiar with Chandler’s work, but the man certainly has moxy. Wrestling saw something of an uptick in 2017 with the release of Netflix series “GLOW”, and a horror film starring sexy badass ladies in spandex might be just the thing to capitalize on the resurgence. With the film releasing

John Malkovich Joins Cast of Zac Efron Led Ted Bundy Biopic

Zac Efron’s further attempts to break into serious acting will continue with “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile” where he will portray serial killer Ted Bundy. While the biopic might win the “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” Award for overlong movie title, the idea of Efron as Bundy is an interesting one. The two share a quiet confidence and good looks, if not (as far as we know!) the same murderous desires. The production got a big boost of credibility today with the announcement that Academy Award nominee John Malkovich would be joining the cast. As of now there’s no announcement as to who Malkovich will play, but the very precense of the veteran thespian give’s the production a significant boost. Personally I’m very conflicted on these kind of films; as much as I find serial killers and serial killer culture…interesting…portraying them as a kind of folk hero, something many biopics and documentaries on the
