Pennywise Haunted Bill Skarsgard’s Dreams After “IT” Wrapped

Hollywood is filled with crazy stories of character actors and the lengths they go for the perfect performance. It goes to say then that a dark character like Pennywise the Clown would be dark on the psyche of anyone who inhabited him. Bill Skarsgard, the man behind the clown, confirmed as much in an interview with EW. “I liken every character that I do to a relationship that you’re in,” Skarsgård tells EW. “Pennywise and Bill go into this sort of relationship together, and I’m trying to figure out who he is and I have to devote so much time and effort to this other person – or thing, in this case – and that goes on for months. It’s just like being in a very destructive relationship. “After we wrapped, I was in my childhood home in Sweden, sitting having coffee with my mom at our kitchen table, and realized, ‘Oh, holy sh—, I don’t have to deal with

AXEMAN 2: OVERKILL Now Free For Amazon Prime Users

Amazon is known for it’s cutting edge prices, but “Axeman 2” slices more than just your shopping bills. Now available on Prime the sequel, subtitled “Overkill” looks like a bloody good time. Including such F-list celebrities as “Teen Mom” star Farrah Abraham, CBS’ “Big Brother” star Rachel Reilly, there’s no shortage of fodder for Axeman’s weapon of choice. Starring by legendary WWE figure Bryan Clark, “Overkill” features “crazed evangelical Christians, murderous bank robbers and revenge-seeking vigilantes (who) clash in the quaint town of Cutter’s Creek.” Cutter’s Creek is either the name of my new emo band or the best title ever bestowed upon a cursed city. The trailer features a whole lot of gore, overacting, axe swinging, and chopped up young people. What else could you ask for from a slasher movie? Especially one you can watch for free.

An Homage To Psycho John Carpenter is a huge fan Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. In fact, Halloween is filled with homages to the black and white movie. Carpenter even cast Jamie Lee Curtis as the lead who is the daughter of Psycho star Janet Leigh. Buzz Tony Todd stared as Candyman in Bernard Rose’s 1992 film. ‘Tales From The Hood’ Getting A Sequel After 22 Years!

Back in 1995 Rusty Cundieff’s anthology, Tales From the Hood was released. While we have seen plenty of anthologies since none have captured Tales From the Hood‘s unique flavor. However, is about to change, after 22 years the movie is finally getting a sequel! I know, it’s awesome, right? The news came via writer/director Rusty Cundieff’s Twitter account in a now-deleted tweet on January 5, 2018, that said, “In New Orleans Location scouting for Tales From The Hood 2 This is part of Anne Rice’s old Home and where she held her LeStat parties.” He confirmed the film again earlier tonight in a tweet which reads, “Can’t scream it but…yeah…” and featured an image from the original movie. https://twitter.com/RustyCundieff/status/949374308215861249 Cundieff has had several projects since Tales From the Hood was released including directing episodes of ‘Chappelle’s Show’, ‘The Hustle’, and the comedy series ‘Black Jesus’.

INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY Doesn’t Unlock Anything New

The fourth film and second prequel in the increasingly confusing “Insidious” series “The Last Key” doesn’t unlock anything new. More demons, more possessions, more creepy creatures with long creaky limbs; it’s more of the Insidious you know and love, except worse. Lin Shay is great as always as demon fighting elderly ass kicker Elise Rainer, but everything else is getting tired. This time around Elise and her sidekicks Tucker and Specs are visiting Elise’s childhood home, where a key fingered demon is crawling around and causing havoc. Add in an appearance from a few more Rainer family members (one of whom has inherited Elise’s powers) some of the most uncomfortable “comic relief” I’ve ever seen, and plenty of long, tension and scare free scenes of people walking slowly, and you’ve got a film that stretch’s its 103 minute running time like a poor fitting pair of pants. Elise is an amazing character, and in small doses Tucker and Specs aren’t

“SLEEPAWAY CAMP IV” Getting New Final Cut On Blu-ray

“Sleepaway Camp IV” has an interesting history to say the least. Starting production in 1992, the funding studio’s bankruptcy ultimately led to the project being shelved. 30 minutes of footage was previously released in a Sleepaway Camp boxset, and eventually, in 2012, the film received a full released, subtitled “The Survivor.” Reception was….mixed. As wikipedia (the most academic of sources) tells us, the final Sleepaway film was a Frankenstein’s monster mishmash of a film. “Filming began in October 1992 at Camp Tamarack in Oakland, New Jersey. Unfortunately Double Helix Films, the film’s production company, went bankrupt during this time, causing the production to shut down. Roughly 34 minutes of footage was shot before shut down. However, it was completed in 2012 by mixing the original footage with archive footage from the previous three films, and was given its own release.” Full disclosure, I’ve never seen “Sleepaway Camp IV” before, or any of the “Sleepaway” sequels for that matter (I know,

New Concept Art Revives Interest In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien’ Sequel

Several years ago, we almost got to see an Alien film from Neill Blomkamp, the filmmaker behind films like District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. After releasing concept art fans wanted more and we almost had it when Fox greenlit the project with Blomkamp set to direct. Blomkamp even had Sigourney Weaver on the hook to reprise her role. Unfortunately, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant moved forward putting Blomkamp’s Alien sequel on the shelf. Alien: Covenant got less than a warm reception, but Scott insists that the story should continue. However, I’m not sure fans would agree who should be in the director’s chair for the next installment. We would love to see Blomkamp’s version of a new sequel. After his series of short films through Oats Studio (one will become a feature), there is no question in my mind that he should have a shot at the iconic franchise. During our interview with Blomkamp addressed his sequel and his short film
