Mobile gaming app developer Metaarcade will bring the otherworldly madness of Cthulhu to your mobile device in ‘Cthulhu Chronicles’. Players take on many roles as different characters who are all investigating the cult of Cthulhu through different scenarios. This RPG game is different from others as instead of building up your characters abilities through combat; you must pick the right character for the investigative scenario as each character has their own strengths and weaknesses as well as their own storyline. The mobile game is based on the physical board game and will be available for iOS devices, don’t worry, other platforms are in development. The game is free to download but there are in-game purchases but to celebrate the launch of the game there will be 10% discounts on all scenarios the week of the game launch (July 10, 2018).

July 8th is Video Game Day, a day where gamers celebrate by sharing their favorite games, talking about their gaming memories, and engage in the age-old argument on which is better console or PC. While we (gamers) celebrate both the nostalgia and future of gaming, there’s one person we really should celebrate, Ralph H. Baer (1922-2014). Without Baer, we probably would never have had gaming systems. So who is he? Baer was born in Germany in 1922. Life was hard for Baer and his family due to the social and political firestorm that was taking over Germany at the time, and that they were Jewish. In 1938 at the age of 16, Baer’s family moved to New York, two months later the infamous Kristallnacht took place. After becoming a citizen, Baer worked in a factory (for $12 a week) and was self-taught. While at a bus stop, he saw an advertisement for degrees in electronics in which he quit his

A one-man development (literally just one guy) is working on the most intriguing game to date, “Amityville ‘76”. The game takes place following the events of the “Amityville Horror” in 1976 the Lutz family fled their home in the middle of the night because of a demonic presence that was haunting them. Players will take on the role of an individual who was granted access to investigate the house to see whether or not the stories were true. The game itself is a cross between “Amityville Horror” and “Paranormal Activity” The developer painstakingly modeled the interior of the house to how it was when the Lutz family left, right down to the details of furnishings and items left behind. There will be two modes in the game, the story mode (investigation) and exploratory where you can explore the house without anything creepy happening. The game’s release date will be determined at another time since the developer is working on this

Today, the makers of the popular multiplayer horror game, “Friday the 13th: the Game” announced there will no further developments or updates to the game. The game’s developer Gun Media’s founder and President Wes Keltner says all they (the developers) can focus on now with the game is fixing glitches/bugs in the game and maintenance on console servers. The plans for new Jason characters, locations, and councilors were slashed due to an ongoing lawsuit between the original film writer Victor Miller and its director/producer Sean Cunningham who currently owns the rights to “Friday the 13th”. Miller’s suit claims that he is, in fact, the rightful owner of the rights to the franchise since he was the one who wrote the story and created the famous mask wearing antagonist Jason Voorhees. Miller has hinted at some scorn in a past interview he did with us back in 2015. “I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and I wish

The awesome folks over at Frontier Developments gave me the chance to play their business simulation game, “Jurassic World Evolution” where players can play the role of the manager of Jurassic World located on the island chain known as The Five Deaths. There are five levels (islands) to play and each has something unique about them and, one very special island that’s a sandbox mode. On each island, you will be given tasks provided to you by three divisions, science, entertainment, and security. When you complete a task for a division will result in money and potential to unlock new dinosaur DNA or perks for your buildings but you must be careful as completing one task may affect your standings with the others and if one division is ignored for too long, they will sabotage buildings or gates to enclosures. The parks have star ratings and generally when you reach three stars the next level unlocks. To keep the numbers

At the big electronics and gaming expo E3, fans and onlookers got a chance to watch gameplay footage from the upcoming “World War Z” game, which promises to be more like the book than the movie. One of the developers from Sabre Interactive was on hand to give more insight for what fans will be expecting to experience. The game will be a four player co-op where you can pick from four different characters specific to each of the three levels you’re playing on meaning there are twelve different individuals to play as. The three levels take place in New York, Moscow, and Jerusalem where players will be facing approximately 500 AI zombies at once! Each level has three chapters where players scavenge for items to use for making traps and barriers to hold off the hoards of the (still debatable) undead. Though the game and developers say the game is unique, many gamers have criticized the claim and drawn

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD! SKIP DOWN FOR FINAL THOUGHTS. After literal hours and days of playing, I’ve completed “Vampyr”. The game by DONTNOD Entertainment and Focus Home Interactive that’s a vampire tale told uniquely through the eyes of a “newborn” vampire and well-known doctor Jonathan Reid. Reid becomes an Ekon, a “vampire”, after returning home to London after serving three years in the First World War, the city is in the midst of the Spanish Flu epidemic. After becoming an Ekon, Reid accidentally kills his sister and vows revenge on the one who turned him into a creature of the night. Reid is sheltered at a hospital headed by a Doctor whose part of a secret society that studies and works with Ekons. While performing missions, Reid will encounter members of a vampire hunting group known as the Guard of Priwen who actively looks for “leeches” (a term they use to describe Ekons). The humans are not the only threat,

It’s been rumored ever since Capcom did a remake of “Resident Evil” that they would remake their equally popular sequel. Well at E3 it was confirmed, the remake is coming January of 2019! The reveal trailer showed a mix of cinematic and gameplay images confirming one thing to veteran fans of the original… this is a terrifying new game! Like the more recent “Resident Evil” games (with the exception of “RE7”), the game will be an over the shoulder third-person game. The main focus of course is it’s obvious the game was strapped into a chair and pumped full of nightmare fuel. The setting looks darker, grittier, and bloodier the way a zombie video game should be. If the remake of “Resident Evil 2” looks terrifying, imagine when they remake “Resident Evil 3: Nemesis”!
