Treyarch’s legendary game mode in their latest “Call of Duty” title will be opening up FREE access to players on all platforms. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War: Zombies will be free to play for all players starting January 14th till the 21st for those who own Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Players will experience the new Sanatorium map where they can play the new 6v6 game mode called Dropkick as well as a new zombie mode called Cranked. In the Cranked game mode, players on teams only have so much time to kill zombies before they themselves blow up, the more the game progresses the shorter the timer gets.

Filming has now wrapped on the Resident Evil reboot from director Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night). The news came from Sony via Twitter stating, ” That’s a wrap in Raccoon City.” Kaya Scodelario (Crawl) stars as Claire Redfield. Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) plays Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) is Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (“The Umbrella Academy”) plays Albert Wesker, “Yellowstone’s” Neal McDonough plays William Birkin, and Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) plays the role of Leon S. Kennedy, with Donal Logue (Silent Night) as Chief Irons. 2020 has been a busy year of gaming and horror-themed games certainly were not in short supply! Going back through the games that were reviewed this year, I picked out games that stayed true to the genre of horror as well as a couple of games balanced on being considered horror or not but were still great games. So here’s the list of the top horror games reviewed, starting from the worst! The Suicide of Rachael Foster With an intriguing title that is more of a place card for what the game should really be called, “Firewatch copycat”, the game tries to scare but fails to do so with a story that needed a longer game in order to tell it fully but instead kept it short and garbled making it the worst game reviewed on Horror Fuel in 2020. The debut game from Asmodev has left early access on Steam and will be fully released on December 28th. Their first game is a gothic dark-fantasy hardcore arcade-style game called Infernal Radiation. Mim, one of the game’s creators had this to say about the upcoming story: We wanted a story that would correspond with the gameplay. And we did it. Infernal Radiation is a chaotic ballad of love, betrayal and revenge. As always, everything we do in Asmodev is steeped in bloody romanticism” Infernal Radiation puts players in the shoes of an exorcist that’s stuck on Halloween Island where a power plant that harnesses the energy of hell to produce power has exploded and the radiation causes people to become possessed. Players will battle the possessed as well as demons and will face off against 20 demonic bosses. Players can go it alone or have a friend help in local co-op mode. Infernal Radiation will be coming to PC (Steam)

CD Projekt Red, the makers of the now most controversial game of the year, Cyberpunk 2077 will be facing legal problems from none other than their own investors. A Warsaw-based legal firm has indicated that an investor is exploring legal action against the company for losses due to the game’s disastrous launch and massive refunds. A law firm based out of New York says it will also represent any shareholders who have lost money “resulting from allegations that CD Projekt may have issued materially misleading information to their shareholders and investing public”, this came after refunds were being given to players who bought Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox. Cyberpunk 2077 has become the most controversial game release in recent years after all the hype build-up and promises broken by CD Projekt Red, for making their staff work long hours to make the game, and for the game to be almost unplayable for most due to the overwhelming number of

Not long ago at the Game Awards, fans of the “Dead Space” franchise got to see the trailer for The Callisto Protocol that’s being made by the same creative team behind the legendary sci-fi horror. Today, the game’s developer Striking Distance has released the new Red Band cinematic trailer for The Callisto Protocol. The game takes place on the moon Callisto in prison as otherworldly horrors begin to run rampant. Not much else is known about the full story at the moment but hints in the trailer indicate that new arrivals at the prison will have to fight for their survival. The Callisto Protocol is set for a 2022 release.

Today NACON Gaming and Cyanide Studios released a six-minute gameplay trailer with commentary by Cyanide’s game director Julien “Patch” Desourteaux for their upcoming RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse- Earthblood that’s set to be released February 4th, 2021. The trailer showcases the abilities of the game’s protagonist Cahal, a werewolf, along with a look at how combat in the game will look like. Cahal can use his human form to interact with the environment and interact with other characters, his wolf form allows him to move quickly and sneak around, and finally, his “crinos” form (werewolf form) which is his combat form where players can switch his “stances” to suit their combat needs may it be strength or agility. Pre-orders are now available through respective platforms stores (PlayStation, Microsoft, and Epic Store); those who pre-order a digital copy will get some cosmetic bonuses for Cahal’s appearance. We’ve got some “groovy” news for fans of the Evil Dead franchise, Bruce Campbell returns as Ash in Evil Dead: The Game! Not only does the new age-restricted trailer give us a first look at Ash, but we also see several other characters from the franchise including Arthur (Marcus Gilbert) of Army of Darkness, “Ash vs Evil Dead’s” Dana DeLorenzo, and Scotty (Richard DeManincor) from The Evil Dead. Of course, Ash’s 1973 Delta 88 Royale is there as well. While little is known about the game, only two things really matter, Campbell is back, and the trailer looks good af. Evil Dead: The Game is from Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive (World War Z!) and will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2021. At the Game Awards, Warner Bros. Games and Turtle Rock Studios showed off the trailer for their upcoming zombie first-person shooter, Back 4 Blood. Turtle Rock Studios is the critically acclaimed development team behind the legendary “Left 4 Dead” game franchise. In Back 4 Blood, the world has been overrun with infected called the Ridden, people turned into zombie-like creatures caused by being infected by the parasitic Devil Worm. A group of survivors, known as the Cleaners, are taking the fight to the Ridden in order to reclaim the world. Back 4 Blood is a co-op game where you and three others make up a squad of 4, but just like in the L4D games, you can play solo with AI teammates. Players can also pit their team against another team of four in an online PVP (player versus player) multiplayer. At the Game Awards, Striking Distance Studios and Krafton unveiled the announcement trailer for their upcoming space survival horror game, The Callisto Protocol. The team of developers that makes up Striking Distance are the masterminds behind the legendary sci-fi horror franchise, “Dead Space”. The Callisto Protocol will take place in the year 2320 on Jupiter’s moon of Callisto where players will have to escape with their lives from Black Iron Prison where terrifying secrets are housed and all hell breaks loose. The Callisto Protocol is slated for release in 2022 for PC and Consoles. An uncensored red band version of the cinematic trailer for The Callisto Protocol will be unveiled on the game’s Discord at 10 am PT on Thursday, December 17.
