CAPCOM today has released new images as well as a trailer for the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3! Along with the images comes more information about villains and heroes that we will be seeing in the upcoming game. Fans will get a first glimpse of the famed Nemesis in action as it goes after our hero Jill. The trailer also introduces more of the mercenaries who will be playing a role in the story more this time than before in the original and even Jill’s role in the story appears to be different this time around making her more important than before. You may have already heard as I have about the news and hype about the 1999 survival horror game Dino Crisis possibly making a comeback. I did not report on this at first because it sounded too much like a rumor, but now that I have the facts I’m here to share! Back in February of 2018, I included Dino Crisis on a list of games that deserve an HD remake, for a while now CAPCOM has stated that there were no plans to either revamp or continue the franchise but alluded to in a 2017 tweet that they were open to the idea if many people want it. With the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake and the excitement for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake, this may have greased the wheels as it has been confirmed that CAPCOM has filed the trademark for Dino Crisis in Japan on November 29th, 2019. Before we get too excited this

The year is coming to a close and officially I have no more video games to review for the year! 2019 was a roller coaster of hits and misses when it came to gaming. There have been exciting announcements that are making gamers excited for the new year like the new Half-Life VR (my prediction is next there will be a Half-Life Mobile THEN we may see Half-Life 3), there’s been hyped up games like Death Stranding that disappointed and confused many and divided Kojima fans. Then there’s our little corner here in the world. I was fortunate enough to review quite a few games this year but it’s that time I have to look back at the ones that matter, the horror ones, and see which titles I’ve reviewed that after completion I would still keep their ratings the same, and which I would probably banish to the shadow realm! Here’s some behind the scenes info for you guys,

At the Video Game Awards, fans were treated to a trailer for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II that’s coming exclusively to the new Xbox Series X console next holiday season. The game, a sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, depicts things are going to get darker for the game’s heroine as it looks like she’s bringing Hel (Norse goddess of the underworld as well as the name of the realm she rules) to the Norsemen. The one thing about the trailer that struck fans the most besides the graphics and imagery of the game, but the song used in the trailer. The song titled “In Maidjan” (translated “To Corrupt”) is quite hypnotic, and badass, just like the band that performed it, Heilung. I’m a fan of the band so it pleases me to finally be able to share with you the band that will be collaborating with Ninja Theory to make the soundtrack for the sequel to the game that I love.

I’m always up to a challenge and willing to try anything new, especially when it comes to the arts. Thankfully Thunder Bay Press allowed me to check out Samwise Didier’s book How to Draw Mythical Monsters and Magical Creatures: An Artist’s Guide to Drawing Mythical Creatures from One of the Masters, that’s quite a mouthful. Let’s talk quickly about Didier himself first. For those of you not familiar with him but most likely know his works. Didier is a Senior Art Director over at Blizzard Entertainment where he directed the art style for the games; Warcraft, StarCraft, and Heroes of the Storm franchises. He also created the artwork for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Diablo games. Now onto the book itself! The pages are thick which is perfect for those who may be flipping back and forth as they are trying a hand at drawing. The book is spiral-bound which helps with keeping pages open so no pressing down the

11 Bit Studios will be taking players back to the world of Frostpunk before the events of the main game in their upcoming DLC “The Last Autumn” that will show how the world looked before freezing over. The DLC will show crucial turning points in the world of Frostpunk as the never-ending winter approaches and how the survivors tried to beat back nature in a last-ditch effort to remain civilized before the British Empire finally collapses. Along with new lore, the DLC will include new buildings and technologies as well as new dangers that threaten the survivors and the peace of the settlement. The infamous “Book of Laws” will return and help shape society in new ways not explored in the main game. “The Last Autumn” DLC will release January 21st, for PC. Console releases will come at a later time.

THQ Nordic Barcelona is giving gamers the chance to offer their opinion on their upcoming project, a remake of cult classic Action RPG, Gothic. Players and fans of the popular series are invited to play the “Playable Teaser” which can show fans the true potential of how the game can look and feel once it’s finished. If fans approve it may take some time for the game to be released as the small development team plans to rebuild the game from the ground up fixing issues that plagued the game since 2001 (like the combat system). The two-hour-long prototype of Gothic is available on Steam and is only accessible for free to those who own any of the following titles Gothic, Gothic 2, Gothic 3, Risen, Risen 2, Risen 3, or ELEX. If you don’t own any of these titles, you’ll have to buy one of the games in order to have access to the playable prototype.

MWM Interactive is bringing the chills in time for the holidays with a haunting retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic Victorian ghost story, A Christmas Carol in the new VR experience ripped right from the pages, Chained: A Victorian Nightmare. Chained: A Victorian Nightmare is an interactive first-person where players can experience the long night of facing the past, present, and future through the eyes of Scrooge himself. The game itself is moody and atmospheric staying true to the original source material which is darker than what we were told as kids (cheeky Victorians). The game will be available later this month for the Oculus Rift, Steam, and HTC Vive for $5.99.

The latest DLC for Frontier Development’s business/theme park simulation Jurassic World Evolution is possibly its biggest yet! The “Return to Jurassic Park” DLC brings back Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in their iconic roles from the film series and picks up where their first adventure left off. In the game, players return to Isla Nublar to help Drs Grant and Sattler, and Ian Malcolm as they’re helping John Hammond to get control back of the island, repair damaged facilities, and get dinosaurs under control so the park can finally open to the public. The story also includes a young Cabot Finch who is in charge of finances in the main game but in the DLC is Hammond’s intern. The DLC not only has the buildings from 1993 (that can be carried over into the main game) but two new dinosaurs, the Compys and Pterandons, and two new attractions, the self-driving tour jeeps from the first film, and the
